scientific discoveries could affect some fundamental legal categories and how laws should be implemented in the face of these innovations. The analysis is characterized by a particular thematic complexity; for this reason, the Conference will be mainly divided into three parts: PANEL 1 - Neuroscience and Law: general topics; PANEL 2 - Neuroscience and health protection and PANEL 3 - Neuroscience in the Courtroom.

The Johns Hopkins University Institute for the History of Medicine is pleased to host the 15th Joint Atlantic Seminar for the History of Medicine, October 13-14, 2017 in Baltimore.

JASM is convened annually for the presentation of research by young scholars working on the history of medicine and public health. The meeting was founded in 2002 to foster a collegial intellectual commu-nity that provides a forum for sharing and critiquing graduate research. We welcome student presentations on any topic and time period and especially hope to receive submissions that speak to this year’s the-me, “Truth, Power, and Objectivity in the History of Medicine.” We encourage submissions from a wide range of scholarly discipli-nes and are eager to hear new voices in the history of medicine and allied fields.

The aims of the World Congress on Controversies in Obstetrics, Gynecology & Infertility are

- To promote excellence in the field of Gynecology & Infertility; - To bring to light through debates and discussions the current con-troversial issues in the field, and to reach consensus on them. This will be done using “Evidence Based Medicine” (EBM), and when sound evidence is lacking, through expert opinion.

- To bridge gaps between expansion of basic science and information and their consolidation into clinical practice;

- To reach tangible agreements and practical consensus on the most current and controversial issues

- in the field;

- To allow ample time for speakers and audience interaction, and to encourage discussion of new ideas with the principal elements deri-ved from EBM and expert opinions

- To be the forum where general practitioners (GPs) can be updated at the highest level in all sub-disciplines of the profession;

- To assist GPs in the understanding of the pressing clinical topics, technological advances, ethical and public health issues, standards of treatment, and medical solutions in the process of being developed.

March 22th-25th, 2018, U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School in San Antonio, Texas, Conference on the Medical History of Medical History of World War I

Over 22-25 March 2018, the Army Medical Department Center of History and Heritage and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences will be co-sponsoring a conference on the medical history of WWI. It will be hosted at the U.S. Army Medical Department Center and School in San Antonio, Texas.

Presentations on all facets of medicine and healthcare related to the war are welcome, to include: historical understandings of military medicine as practiced by all participants and in all geographic regions; consideration of the repercussions of the war on the practice of medicine; medicine in various campaigns; effects on the home fronts; postwar medical issues; mental health issues; the pandemic influenza; and related topics.
