CHIEDERE E DARE INFORMAZIONI SU DIMENSIONE E DISTANZE
“HOW” + AGGETTIVO…?
• Per chiedere informazioni sulla quantità, sull’età, sulle dimensioni, sulla
durata e sulla distanza si usa l’interrogativo HOW unito a diversi aggettivi.
Ex. How high is Mont Blanc? Ex. How far is Milan from Tokyo?
HOW MUCH…? Quanto/Quanta?
HOW MANY…? Quanti/Quante?
HOW OLD…? Quanti anni?
HOW BIG…? Quanto grande?
HOW WIDE…? Quanto ampio?
HOW LARGE…? Quanto largo?
HOW LONG…? Quanto lungo? / Quanto tempo?
HOW FAR…? Quanto lontano?
HOW TALL…? Quanto alto? (riferito alle persone o agli animali)
HOW HIGH…? Quanto alto? (riferito alle cose)
HOW DEEP…? Quanto profondo?
• Nelle risposte l’aggettivo si mette sempre alla fine della frase, ad eccezione di FAR e BIG.
Ex. Mont Blanc is 4.809 metres high.
Ex. It is about 9.714 km from Milan to Tokyo
• Si usa HOW LONG con il verbo TO TAKE per chiedere quanto tempo occorre.
