decreeMonument description
Monument type: stele Material: white marble✓ornamentation ✓figurative relief
Letters Height Mt: 0.006 Same stonecutter as:
IG 2[2] 1706, see Tracy 1990 47
Notes:
The upper part of the fragment preserves three mouldings, surmounted by what it would seem the remain of a pediment, with a figurative relief. Nonetheless, the fragmentary shapes detectable on this surface are very hard to be intepreted; and, moreover, they may also derive from a
later modification of a simple pediment, for purposes of reuse.
Physical features
Measurements: h: 0.191 * w: 0.20 * t: 0.105State of conservation: Tiny fragment from the upper part of the stele,
broken on all sides; the back is preserved. On the top, the fragment preserves part of the original pediment, with mouldings and, perhaps, traces of a figurative relief.
Legibility: Good.
Reuse: (?) - The traces of sculpted figures above the mouldings may
also derive from a later architectonical reuse of the stele.
Signs of reuse: (Non clearly detectable, but see above).
