Coragen ® tested on PTM in field trials in Spain, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Turkey
Results indicate excellent performance on PTM with 2-4 applications.
Normally 20-40% above commercial standards.
Laboratory/semi-field trials helped to clarify
individual aspects of Coragen activity on PTM.

Small-plot trials
Normally the sprayate cannot wet the tuber portions in the ground.
In particular, nothing can impede an adult
female to lay eggs on a tuber in a nearby plot.
Once an egg is laid on the tuber, it cannot be reached and the larvae will develop safely.

Ergo (caution)
The egg-laying in unprotected, exposed tuber portions can create a bias in small-plot trials.
Much less in full-scale, commercial applications.

TRIAL DESIGN AND APPLICATION
25.10.2013
Aim of this study (2010-2011) with Agrea & the Padua Univ. was to evaluate the efficacy
component on adults, also in order to better explain the observed “population reduction effects”
observed consequent to Rynaxypyr ® applications.
First focus was on adults as they play a key role in the tuber infestation and many eggs can be laid in places (e.g. soil) where sprayate cannot reach
them.

Overall conclusions
The Lab. trials on “population reduction” effects indicate :
- adult mortality (25 to > 60%)
- very high and consistent reduction of egg-laying (up to 100%).
Both are positively correlated to the duration of the adult tarsal exposure (in the range 24-96 hours) and to the tested concentration (in the range 17.5 to 30 mL/hL).
* All the concs adopted in the lab. studies were on the low side vs. the real
use-concentration (in the range 30-60 mL/hL).
25.10.2013
Normally the sprayate cannot wet well the tubers portions and soil particles in the
ground.
Once an egg is laid there, the animal is safe
& sound.
