A partire da questo numero, la squadra di Acque Sot- terranee - Italian Journal of Groundwater, si rinnova nella composizione e nell’organizzazione, dai ruoli fino alle defi- nizioni, del Comitato Editoriale. Da oggi infatti i più assi- dui e stretti collaboratori della Direzione Scientifica, ovvero la Redazione Tecnico-Scientifica, agiranno in qualità di Editors, mentre il Comitato Tecnico-Scientifico sarà defini- to Associate Editors.

Come è giusto che sia, periodicamente diamo l’oppor- tunità di collaborare anche a nuove figure qualificate dal punto di vista scientifico e tecnico, mettendo in atto un aggiornamento di ruoli e persone. In tal senso desideriamo innanzitutto esprimere il nostro più sentito ringraziamento

Una nuova stagione per la nostra Rivista A new season for our journal

As of this issue, the Acque Sotterranee - Italian Journal of Ground- water team has been renewed in terms of the Editorial Board’s com- position and organization, roles and definitions. Henceforth the closer and more assiduous collaborators of the Editors-in-Chief will act as Editors, while the members of the wider technical-scientific committee will be defined Associate Editors.

As is right and proper, we periodically give new people - technical and scientific experts in their fields – the opportunity to collaborate, thus implementing a regular updating of roles and responsibilities within the group. In this sense, we especially want to express our heartfelt thanks to all those who have contributed to the growth of our journal over recent years, during which it has seen a significant increase in all respects. a tutti coloro che in questi anni hanno contribuito alla crescita della nostra rivista, che ha visto un incremento notevole di tutti i suoi numeri. Al nuovo gruppo, ai nuovi Editors e As- sociate Editors diamo un caloroso benvenuto nella squadra: ci aspetta un lavoro importante e la responsabilità di continuare a crescere almeno seguendo il trend attuale, se non incremen- tandolo ulteriormente.

La rivista infatti negli ultimi 3 anni ha avuto un forte in- cremento delle attività editoriali, testimoniato dalle statisti- che, che si possono osservare in figura. Le visite, così come i download dal sito, specialmente nell’ultimo anno, si sono più che triplicate. In chiaro trend positivo sono anche le citazioni degli articoli, che su Web of Science (Clarivate) risultano ben 569 totali, a partire dal 2015, con una media di circa 3,5 ci- tazioni per articolo.

La estrazione geografica delle visite vede, anno per anno, la comparsa variabile di alcune nazioni tra quelle che accedono alla rivista più frequentemente; questo dato è probabilmen- te sensibile ad articoli che sono stati pubblicati da Autori di queste nazioni ed alla condivisione dei link a detti articoli attraverso la loro rete di contatti. Il dato interessante è l’in- cremento nel tempo delle visite dagli USA, che hanno visto negli ultimi 3 anni un incremento costante dall’8% (2017) al 15% (2019).

Riteniamo che oggi la Rivista presenti numeri e contenu- ti scientifici e tecnici, la cui qualità crescerà sicuramente nel tempo. Siamo consapevoli che il raggiungimento dell’obiet- tivo di diventare un punto di riferimento per l’ idrogeologia dell’area euro-mediterranea è ancora lontano, ma siamo con- vinti che la strada intrapresa sia quella giusta: con l’impegno di tutti, ossia dell’Editorial Board, degli Autori, dei Lettori, riusciremo in questa impresa!

sociate Editors, we extend a warm welcome onboard. Important work awaits us, together with the responsibility of maintaining growth, continuing the current trend or even increasing it further.

Over the last 3 years, the Journal has experienced a significant increase in publishing activities, as testified by the statistics shown in the figure. Visits to and downloads from the site, especially in the last year, have more than tripled. There is also a clear positive trend in citations of articles, which on Web of Science (Clarivate) now total 569 since 2015, with an average of about 3.5 citations per article.

Analysis of the geographical origin of the visits year by year reveals new and varying figures for some of the nations that access the Jour- nal more frequently; this is probably due to articles that have been published by Authors from these countries who have shared links to their articles through their own networks. It is interesting to note the increase over time of visits from the USA, which have risen steadily in the last 3 years from 8% (2017) to 15% (2019).

We believe the Journal now has the figures and scientific and tech- nical content whose quality will surely continue to increase over time.

We are aware that our aim of becoming a reference point for hydro- geology in the European and Mediterranean area is still far from being achieved, but we are convinced that the direction we have taken is the right one; with the commitment of everyone, Editorial Board, Authors and Readers, we will succeed in this endeavor!
