Aproximate translation:
Turn to the luminous heaven, O heart, where are the eternal delights
yearning there with proper affections.
From there the Creator, only for us,
spreads his gifts, only for us, only for us,
spreads his gifts, his gifts.
There is no joy, only suffering.
Away from the stream of the world mankind should strive,
Away from this poisonous sweetness.
Hidden among the herbs, and the flowers,
hidden among the herbs, and the flowers,
is a snake.
O delights of the world
you are no more than dry reeds, slight, and frail:
Only a sigh, oh wandering light amongst the other lights, will blow you out .
And you mortals, will you thus to unwary desires
abandon your self without restraint?
Do you not realize that this is foolishness.
Your destination will be tears.
Laughter spurs you on.
And You trust the Sirens, Who only pleasures you, who only pleasures you to kill you.
Oh, this foolishness is too great.
You wander blindly misguided by sin in the labyrinth of your mind
by the untrustworthy ray of vague lies, dazzled, and betrayed,
not knowing the double signposts of truth.
Miserable, though you don t realize it.
The earthly flame flash, sparkle.
But what about the smoke of this flaming fire?
The higher you ascend, The more you are consumed, The more you shine,

High Father of Heaven,
My true God, my Creator in the high, and eternal Shepherd of my soul, This wandering sheep,
at it s place of birth,
turns to you and asks plaintively, To you, to you, make me return:
In your paternal zeal do this.
Please do not make me wait, bring me back,

after your holy will.
Pity! pity! oh, Lord.
Pity, forgiveness, and peace!
