Inquiry Based Teaching in Life Sciences Massive Online Open Course (Rerun) Why?

The ‘Inquiry Based Teaching in Life Sciences’ MOOC is meant to enhance life sciences teachers’ pedagogical competencies and practices, and improve their conceptual understanding of life science to help them further establish and disseminate Inquiry- Based Science Education (IBSE).

Course information:

Start date: Monday, 9th April 2019 Duration: 6.5 weeks

Number of modules: 5 (one module per week)

and 1.5 extra weeks at the end of the course in order for participants to submit their final course activity and review the activity of three of their peers.

Content:

Experience Inquiry as an adult learner

Acquire the skills and confidence to implement Inquiry Based Teaching in the classroom

Learn how to reflect on your own teaching practice

 Enhance your personal and your

students’ conceptual understanding of life sciences

 Explore various formal and informal assessment approaches for IBSE

For whom?

Life science teachers (of 12-19 year old students) from Europe and beyond.
