The park divides the neighborhood horizontaly creang a public space that can be used by both residents and the locals.The trees increase the oxygen levelofthe area.
The courtyards are located in the southern parts ofthe houses,for having the sunlight from the south direcon.Allofthe living rooms face both courtyard and
COURTYARD TYPOLOGY
As a tradionalelement ofthe Syrian architecture typology,every building have their own courtyard.It helps to provide the house sufficient sunlight and naturalvenlaon.
To provide each building a sufficient amount ofdaylight,the tradional houses are only 1 floor while the apartment types are between 2-3 floors.
The tradionaltypes are located surrounding the inner green while the apartments are closer to the main roads.
The windows that are facing the courtyards are put symmetrical. The doors and the windows are aligned to create a natural venlaon inside the house.
Some ofthe houses have a semi-open seang space which represents the tradionalarchitecture ofthe old Syrian houses.It is a covered space, higher than the ground level,which can be reached by steps.
