The thesis provides programming and design a multi-purpose sports system in Dubai (UAE) in a sub-tropical climate, consisting of: soccer, basketball and athletics within an orthogonal, composite modular maxi-grid that includes a rotation of macro-modules and modules at urban and construction scale. The Grid will be able to host the Stadium, the Indoor Sports Centre which includes, besides the “domed arena” a service centre with restaurants, stores, ticket control centre with the provision of gradual thermoregulation systems that ensure a differentiated micro-climate depending on activities which will be performed.
In particular the degree thesis, within all planned micro-climates and besides the programming and design of the structures referred to above, has the task of expressing some project hypotheses concerning air-conditioning system, to be used inside the indoor sports centre with development of three alternative solutions.
