2.1. SYSTEM DOMINANTS

Analyses carried out on policies, processes and perspectives in the Latium region reveal three basic lines of thinking concerning the scenarios of sustainable territorial innovation.

In this chapter, we look at the various strategies, rationales and utility - of sectors and supply chains - which influence the location of businesses, determine their settlement and foster their success.

In this respect, two issues emerge: on the one hand, a sort of split between the "ideal region" - scheduled and planned - and the

"real region"; on the other, a persisting situation of segmentation and lack of communication between programmers and local development support.
