Abstract

The following work evaluates the aerodynamic characteristics of the last generation UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle), below called “Delta Flyer”.

Starting from first approximation’s input data, it was defined the final geometry with a “Full Scale” visualization of the tridimensional model, using the CAD software Catia. After that, in Gambit environment, it was created the grid computing (mesh).

Through the help of a CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) program, different kinds of configurations were analyzed. The analysis allowed to extrapolate the most important aerodynamics characteristics: the polar aircraft, cruise condition, pitch and roll response.
