In questa tesi, condotta in collaborazione con Siemens VDO Automotive, viene eseguita una ricerca applicativa sulle tecniche di reingegnerizzazione dei processi aziendali allo scopo di implementare un sistema di produzione snella nell’attuale industria manifatturiera. Dopo una breve introduzione sulle metodologie, che consentono di ridurre gli sprechi presenti in qualunque gestione industriale, si è preso in considerazione il caso aziendale di Siemens VDO Automotive con l’intento di verificare la possibilità di implementazione di un sistema di produzione snella nell’area di produzione Fuel Rail. Lo studio si è concentrato su una delle 15 linee di produzioni presenti nel reparto, la linea di assemblaggio Fuel Rail Jaguar. Eseguendo un’analisi dettagliata del flusso produttivo, attraverso i dati ottenuti, è stato possibile snellire l'attuale processo produttivo, riorganizzando il lavoro attraverso la standardizzazione di operazioni semplici. Infine, con l'utilizzo del software Simul8, è stato realizzato un modello della linea permettendo di valutare direttamente l'impatto di interventi mirati al flusso produttivo, al fine di aumentare la robustezza del sistema di produzione.

Abstract

In this thesis, carried out with the contribution of Siemens VDO Automotive, we make an applicative research on the companies process re-engineering techniques, in order to implement a slim production system in the modern manufacturing industry. After a short introduction about the main methods which allow the reduction of waste present in any industrial organization, we have considered the Siemens VDO Automotive Company case, in order to check the possibility of implementing a slim production system in the Fuel Rail production area. The study has been focused on one of the fifteen production lines in the department, the Fuel Rail Jaguar.

Doing a detailed analysis of the production flow through the achieved data, the

actual productive process could be streamlined and the work restructured,

through standardized simple operations. At last, using the Simul8 software, a

model of the line has been made allowing a direct evaluation of the productive

flow interventions impact, in order to increase the product system strength.
