This units aims to complete the student skills in the naval architecture field through the study of advanced topics specificallyconcerning the preliminary phase of the design.
Programma
Definition of planing. Resistance components of a planing craft. Influence of the hull geometrical parameters on motion resistance. Methods for the trim control of crafts. Methods for the resistance prediction of a planing hull: systematic series, statistical methods, Savitsky method. Surface piercing propellers
