Curriculum Vitae of Professor Marco Bravi
Marco Bravi was born on 10/9/1963 in Imola (BO). He graduated in Chemical Engineering in 1988 and obtained a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering in 1993. He is now Associate Professor of Process Engineering Equipment Design since 2001, currently with teachings both at the Faculty of Engineering of Sapienza University of Rome ("Food Plants" and Biochemicals "and" Micro and Nanoparticles Production Technology ", this latter as a shared-teaching course) and at the School of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine of the University of Padua (Course of WWaste Management and Bioenergetic Utilizations of Byproducts", as a teaching assignment).
The scientific activity of Marco Bravi involved the following specific sectors and topics:
CRYSTALLIZATION AND PRODUCTION OF MICRO AND NANOPARTICLES; MEMBRANE PROCESSES; BIO-REFINING AND EXTRACTION PROCESSES WITH NOVEL SOLVENTS;
MICROBIAL BIOMASS PRODUCTION with microalgae, cyanobacteria, yeast and mycelial fungi; DISTILLATION; CHARACTERIZATION OF INSTRUMENTAL SYSTEMS FOR ARTIFICIAL SENSORY ANALYSIS. Currently, its main field of scientific research concerns the processes and equipment for the production of naturale substances and biomaterials from metabolites of microalgae and cyanobacteria.
The scientific activity of Marco Bravi is documented by >100 scientific publications and 2 registered patents.
In the course of his research activity he was responsible for several funded research projects, including a research project funded by the European Union, at Sapienza University of Rome, and took part as a member of the research group in some projects at the University of Padua.
