Abstract

Lean concepts applied to Parallel Production’s logistic aspects:

the case Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.

This work is the report of my experience in Automobili Lamborghini Spa from July 2007 to February 2008. After a description of the Lean Production’s theory and of the productive system characteristics, it introduces the main project in which my job is integrated: the new Gallardo LP 560-4. The aim of this study is to analyze the logistic aspects of the Parallel Production’s period that consists in the construction of two different models on the same assembly line. Starting with the examination of the new specific parts, it defines the additional volumes to make possible to organize the logistic areas and to delineate the material flow. To obtain this result there has been put particular attention to the methodology of linefeeding. In the last part there has done a detailed description of the Gallardo assembly line’s kaizen different workshops: optimization of preassembly areas of the radiators, suspensions and dashboards, realization of the “Normaleria’s Islands” and optimization of work stations.
