A B S T R A C T
This thesis addresses the design of a sanitary telemonito-ring system; the purpose is providing doctors with a po-werful tool to monitor their patients online. The work starts with an analysis of current available solutions with the pur-pose to point out merits and defects; in this phase the re-quirements for doctors and patients, for the users of the system, are carefully considered. A web interface that al-lows the doctor to visualize graphically the measures sent to the system by the patients is designed and partly deve-loped. Conversely, for the patients the structure of an TV interface for digital broadcasting is conceived. This struc-ture patients to interact with the system using the usual remote control. The last part addresses the necessity for doctors to sign digitally the produced documents. An ar-chitecture for digitally signing documents based on smart cards is therefore designed and developed.
