We are grateful to see you in Rome and thank you for attending ESC Congress where all together we will meet, learn and establish new friendships.
The world's largest cardiovascular congress is truly multinational with faculty, abstract presenters, sister societies and cardiology experts from over 140 countries.
This year’s spotlight, ‘The Heart Team’ highlights the importance of teamwork and interactions between all professionals and specialties involved in managing patients with cardiovascular disease.
Exciting new tracks are organised on surgery, stroke, and e-cardiology. The Gladiator’s Arena will feature live and engaging discussions between leading speakers on topical and controversial issues. After the "debate" cast your vote for the best argument presented.
Latest evidence and recommendations will be presented during the ‘ESC Clinical Practice Guidelines’ sessions with face to face exchanges to help you implement them in your practice. Meet the Guidelines Task Force, discuss Clinical Cases, learn about their application in different countries through the My NCS@ESC Sessions and test your knowledge with the ESC Cardiology Quiz in the Hub!
Novel clinical trial results will be announced in the popular ‘hot line’ sessions while the ‘Advances in Science’ will feature the best from over 11 000 abstracts submitted to ESC Congress.
Keep a finger on the pulse of industry partners in the exhibition or during the satellite symposia.
For easy planning download the ‘ESC 2016’ Mobile App to select the presentations you don’t want to miss as well as interact and vote during the ‘Mobile app interactive sessions’. The Mobile App also gives you a direct access to ESC Congress 365 and ESC TV to review Congress resources all year long.
We welcome you to the Inaugural session on Saturday 27 August to officially open ESC Congress 2016 in the eternal city of Rome.
We wish you a great ESC Congress, the place where the world of cardiology comes together!
All the best,
Fausto Pinto, FESC President 2014 - 2016 European Society of Cardiology
Geneviève Derumeaux, FESC Chairperson 2014 - 2016 Congress Programme Committee
and all ESC Members of the Congress Programme Committee
