N

ell’urgenza psichiatrica si valuta generalmente lo stato acuto in cui arrivano i pa- zienti senza considerare il loro passato ed i loro trascorsi psicopatologici, come ad esempio un passato tossicomane. Tuttavia, secondo i nostri dati, analizzare anche il pregresso dell’uso di sostanze appare fondamentale. Infatti, i soggetti con un pregresso uso di sostanze presentano tempi di degenza più lunghi ed un recupero più lento rispet- to a chi non ha un tale passato nella sua storia. Nell’urgenza psichiatrica bisogna tenere quindi in considerazione non solo lo stato mentale acuto del soggetto ma anche il tratto di tossicomania per una migliore efficienza delle strutture di emergenza psichiatrica ed una migliore sinergia di interventi, rivolti a questi specifici pazienti.
