- La maggiore o minore risposta ai trattamenti chemio o radioterapici è
ac-compagnata in generale da una variazione dei livelli dei markers.
- Livelli molto elevati dei markers al momento della diagnosi, si
accompa-gnano di solito ad una metastatizzazione già in atto, sono quindi un
in-dice prognostico sfavorevole.
Conclusioni V
- La recidiva locale determina innalzamenti dei markers meno
frequente-mente ed a valori meno cospiqui della metastatizzazione a distanza,
spe-cialmente epatica.
- Nei tumori del colon-retto e dello stomaco l’endoscopia digestiva ha un
ruolo non sostituibile per individuare recidive locali in tempo utile per un
reintervento radicale.
- L’uso combinato dei markers, endoscopia, scinti, ecografia e TAC
miglio-rano in modo significativo il potere diagnostico di ciascun metodo se
usato da solo.
