Authors profiles
Roberto Busi
Full professor of Technical and urban Planning at the University of Brescia. Director of the Department of Civil Engineering, Architecture, Territory and Environment and of the Centro Studi Città Amica. He coordinates the Research Doctorate in Places and Time of City and Territory. He has always investigated environmental subjects linked to city and territory. He has also dealt with the security of the pedestrians in urban environment according to the re-qualification of public open spaces.
Centro Internazionale Città d’Acqua
The International Center Cities of Water is a nonprofit association, born in Venice in 1989. It is aimed at developing researches and promoting initiatives on the various aspects of the relationships between water and city. Its interlocutors are the cities of the world, careful to the recovery of a positive relation with the water, in order to improve the quality of the urban environment.
Oriana Giovinazzi
Researcher at the Department of Planning of the University Iuav of Venice. She develops studies and researches with the Center Cities of Water on the waterfront development for conferences, workshops and pubblications.
Marta Moretti
Vice Director of the Center Cities of Water of Venice. She is Responsible of the Editorial Board of pubblications of the Center: Aquapolis and Portus. She is also Editorial Director of the newsletter of the Center, Città d’Acqua News.
Andrea Ceudech
Architect, Ph.D in Urban and regional Planning at the University of Naples Federico II where he is contract professor at the Faculty of Engineering.His research activity at the “Dipartimento di Pianificazione e Scienza del Territorio” of the University Federico II is focused on the setting up of methods for the vulnerability assessment of urban systems to natural hazards and on the deepening of the relationships between mobility and urban planning policies.
Giovanni Circella
Post-doc researcher at the Urban Land Use and Transportation (ULTRANS) Center of the University of California, Davis. He has received an Italian Laurea Degree (BS+MS) in Civil Engineering and a Ph.D. in Transportation Planning from the Politecnico di Bari, Italy and a Master of Science in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis. He was a Fulbright Scholar and visiting researcher at the University of California during 2006 and 2007.
Fiorella de Ciutiis
Engineer, Ph.D in Hydraulic, Transport and Territorial Systems Engineering at the University of Naples Federico II. Her research activity concerns the relationship between urban transformation and property values variation, considered as a synthetic indicator of urban quality. She collaborates also with the Plan Office of the Province of Caserta for the creation of the Territorial Plan.

D. course of “Engineering of the territorial systems and networks” at the Faculty of Engineering of Naples. He carries out research activities on Innovation Technology and territorial change, GIS, sustainable planning and Urban Risk.
Adriana Galderisi
Researcher at the “Dipartimento di Pianificazione e Scienza del Territorio” of the University of Naples Federico II, Professor of Town Planning at the Faculty of Engineering of the University Federico II; Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning.
The research activities are addressed to the requalification of urban environment, focusing on the relationships between urban mobility and urban quality and on the vulnerability of urban systems to natural and na-tech events.
Mariano Gallo
Associate Professor of Transportation Engineering at University of Sannio, Italy. He received a MS in Civil Engineering from University of Naples Federico II and a PhD in Transportation Engineering from University of Rome “La Sapienza”,Italy. Professor Gallo’s primary research interests are in transportation network design, public transportation analysis and multimodal transportation systems.
Carmela Gargiulo
Associate professor of Urban Planning Techniques at the University of Naples Federico II. Member of the Researcher Doctorate in Hydraulic, Transport and Territorial Systems Engineering. Scientific consultant of Naples Municipality for the Strategic Plan, of the Province of Avellino for the Ptcp. Research interests are in the processes of urban requalification, in relationships between urban transformations and mobility, in estate exploitation produced by urban transformations.
Rosa Anna La Rocca
Architect. PhD in Regional and Urban Planning at University of Naples “Federico II” where is temporary professor. She collaborates with Department of Planning and Regional Science of the University of Naples principally referring to tourist development impacts on urban transformations and waterfront evolution in city-port relationship.
Giuseppe Mazzeo
Researcher of the National Research Council (Institute of Studies on the Mediterranean Systems in Naples). Professor of Urban Planning Technique at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Naples Federico II. It carries out research activity at the Department of Planning and Science of the Territory (University of Naples Federico II) in the territorial planning, strategic environmental assessment and urban regeneration fields.
