She died in 2005, she was 92 years old; she inspired a lot of people
One day she refused to give up her seat
to a white man so the driver called the
police
She was arrested because she was breaking a local
segregation law
“Segregation law” separated black people from
white people in schools, hospitals, restaurants, buses,
jobs, houses and all public places.
After her arrest black people refused to take buses for 382
days The segregation law on buses was

He was the leader of the civil rights movement he was born in
1929 In 1963 he organized a demonstration in Washington DC He fought against racial discrimination In a non-violent way (through protest, meetings, demonstration) His famous speech is “I have
a dream” (I have a dream that one day little black boys
and girls will be holding hands with little white boys
