BRIEF BIOGRAPHY OF DOMENICO PIANESE
Domenico Pianese was born in Giugliano in Campania (Italy) on May 18, 1960. On January 1984 he was graduated, cum laude, in Hydraulic Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of University of Naples Federico II, Italy (one of most ancient University of World). In 1986 he achieved the position of University Researcher in Hydraulic Systems. In 1998 attained the position of Associate Professor of Hydraulic Systems, Hydrology and River Engineering at University of Naples Federico II. Starting form 2000, he is Full Professor of Hydraulic Systems, Hydrology and River Engineering at University of Naples Federico II, where he is teaching the Courses of: “Construction of Hydraulic Systems” for first degree level students (third year); “Design and Management of Hydraulic Systems” and “River Engineering and Rural Drainage Systems” for second degree level students (fifth year); and “Hydrology” and “Probability and Statistics” for Ph.D students. He is author of about 140 papers, most of them published on International Journals or International Conferences Proceedings. He is also involved in a number of consulting activities in the fields of Hydraulic Systems, River Engineering, Debris-Flow prevention measures, Hydraulic Networks (as for drainage as for water supply and distribution), and is member of several National Boards and Committee.
