The inspiration to paint started from the simple desire to assist a
troubled Syrian mother to find her voice in world that was new to her. It somehow seemed obvious that painting was the medium that would serve that purpose. In the course of that naïve but instinctive effort to reach out I appreciated the power of painting, which has since become a passion of mine.
Surrounded by art in my homeland, I took it for granted, but suddenly was awakened to its power. In my efforts to develop my skills and build on the yearning to communicate through art I turned to the Art institute in Brera University in Milan. There the transition from an amateurish autodidact to an artist began by benefiting from the formal instruction it provided. However, I still felt the need to further develop techniques. To achieve this I turned on two occasions to Mark Carder where I acquired additional skills.
Though the foundational skills were further developed they did not alter my basic strategy which is to approach each canvas as an “open book” that reveals itself only after the exercise of putting paint on canvas is started. In the years since then I have completed 40?
Paintings. The sustained effort has exposed my inner views on, the world order, and society, that I find troublesome and feel the need to sound an alarm.
The artistic journey is best illustrated in the consecutive paintings by dates of completion .
