Introduction

Every revision operation offers the surgeon the possibility of selecting a system or solution, which represents the latest state-of-the-art in both technology and knowledge.

Typically, in revision operations it is an old prosthesis which has to be revised, can be upgraded by means of BIOLOX

®

Option either to a standard ceramic/polyethylene combination or to the preferred ceramic/ceramic combination. In both cases, there are possible benefits for the patient. These include a minimising of abrasion and wear, a reducing of the rate of loosening and consequently an addressing of the problem of particle induced osteolysis.
