Biochar is the final product of vegetable biomass pyrolysis and its use in agriculture allows the CO2 removal from the atmosphere. Usually biochar is produced by pyrolysis at 550°C; in this work samples were achieved at temperatures ranging from 550 ° C to 1100 °C.
Biochar has a retaining heavy metals property and can be used for
water purification and land decontamination.
In the laboratory, 12 different plant essences of biochar were produced using a
tubular oven at a temperature of 550 °C, 800 °C and 1100 °C.
1g biochar + 50 ml at 2 mg/l
(Al, Cd, Cr, Cu, Mn, Ni, Pb, Zn)

A b a te m e n t % CONCLUSIONS
Abatement increases with increasing pyrolysis temperature
Abatement increases with contact time but also depends on the type of metal The greatest abatements are obtained for Al, Cu, Pb and Zn
Cd, Ni and Mn have lower abatement, more variable depending on the essences
