Biochar is the final product of vegetable biomass pyrolysis and its use in agriculture allows the CO2 removal from the atmosphere. Usually biochar is produced by pyrolysis at 550°C; in this work samples were achieved at temperatures ranging from 550 ° C to 1100 °C.

Biochar has a retaining heavy metals property and can be used for

water purification and land decontamination.

In the laboratory, 12 different plant essences of biochar were produced using a

tubular oven at a temperature of 550 °C, 800 °C and 1100 °C.

1g biochar + 50 ml at 2 mg/l

A b a te m e n t % CONCLUSIONS

 Abatement increases with increasing pyrolysis temperature

 Abatement increases with contact time but also depends on the type of metal  The greatest abatements are obtained for Al, Cu, Pb and Zn

 Cd, Ni and Mn have lower abatement, more variable depending on the essences
