È un piacere avervi qui come nostri ospiti. Palazzo Guadagni e la sua splendida Loggia furono costruiti nel 1505 da Simone del Pollaiolo per il mercante di seta Riniero di Bernardo Dei.
La Loggia, la prima nel suo genere a Firenze, è ancora oggi uno dei luoghi più scenografici della città.
Prendetevi un momento per godervi la splendida vista su Piazza Santo Spirito e la sua Chiesa, la cupole del Carmine e del Cestello.
Si possono inoltre ammirare i caratteristici tetti rossi fiorentini e in lontananza le colline di Marignolle che circondano la città.
Molti personaggi famosi hanno soggiornato in questo palazzo:
da famiglie nobili come i Guadagni e i della Gherardesca fino ad arrivare al Primo Ministro Urbano Rattazzi con sua moglie, Marie Letizia Bonaparte Wyse, nipote di Napoleone. Questi ultimi erano arrivati a Palazzo Guadagni quando Firenze era capitale del Regno d’Italia e il re si trasferì da Torino a Palazzo Pitti nel 1865.
Nel XX seccolo, Palazzo Guadagni e la sua Loggia furono un luogo frequentato da molti artisti tra cui i pittori Eduard Bargheer, Karli Sohn-Rethel e Rudolph Levy.
Nel 1999, il maestro Franco Zeffirelli girò in Loggia alcune scene del celebre film «Un té con Mussolini» con Maggie Smith e Cher.
La Loggia è ancora oggi un luogo unico che permette di respirare l’autenticità e la bellezza di una Firenze senza tempo.

It is a pleasure to have you here. Palazzo Guadagni and its splendid Loggia, where you are sitting today, were built in 1505 by Simone del Pollaiolo for the silk merchant Riniero di Bernardo Dei. It is one of the most picturesque landmark in the city and the first of its kind built in Florence.
Take a moment to admire the view on Santo Spirito Square, its church, the dome of Carmine and Cestello, as well as the characteristic red roofs of the city and its surrounding hills.
Many personalities have lived in this palace over the centuries, from the Guadagni and Della Gherardesca noble families to the Prime Minister Urbano Rattazzi and his wife Marie-Letizia Bonaparte Wyse, the niece of Napoleone. The latest moved to Palazzo Guadagni while Florence became the capital of Italy and the king settled with its court from Turin to Pitti Palace in 1865.
During the XXe century, Palazzo Guadagni and its Loggia became a popular place amongst artists such as the painters Eduard Bargheer, Karli Sohn-Rethel and Rudolph Levy.
Later in 1999, the movie director Franco Zeffirelli shot here «Un té con Mussolini» with Maggie Smith and Cher.
