INTERNATIONAL VOLUNTEERING AWARD 2017
Statement on the candidate Solange Ongoly Ngoma, UN Volunteer
From Georgette Charlotte Mato - Yaounde-Cameroon; gc_mato@yahoo.fr During On the sidelines of an ECCAS mission to Cameroon in July / August 2015, an invitation was extended to Mrs. Solange Goma, to discuss the Model Forests process. We knew her on networks of the ECOFAC (internet) program, Millennia 2025 on women and on innovations. But we had never met him. At the first contact, we found an enthusiasm to know the implementation and operation of the drills Models. She knows how to convince! Model forests are in fact an original and unique model of large-scale territorial governance that includes forests as well as all other land and resource uses (agriculture, mining, water, fisheries and energy, for example). Model Forests are also a model of voluntary partnership between all the players in a territory in order to ensure the sustainable development of the territory on the basis of programs, projects and joint and solidary activities. At the end of our very fruitful exchanges, we had seen the beginning of a partnership that could help us not only to consolidate our achievements but also to deploy them in other countries. This is what happened after our meeting in Yaoundé, with contacts on Moringa through the Congo-Training network.
