Dear Prof. Isabelle Perroteau,

We are glad to inform you that the Landau Network-Centro Volta (LNCV), with the contribution of the United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI), is planning to organize the Strategic Meeting for the Project “International

Network of universities and institutes for raising awareness on dual-use concerns in bio-technology”, to be held at the LNCV headquarters at the Chamber of Commerce of Como, Italy, on 6-7 March, 2013.

The Project currently involves 19 Universities and research institutes in 15 countries within and outside the European Union (EU). It is funded by the EU CBRN Centres of Excellence program (www.cbrn-coe.eu), an initiative of the EU in collaboration with the UN aimed to promote scientific cooperation globally, implement safe working conditions, prevent risks linked to the accidental use or misuse of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) technologies and, more important, to enhance the preparedness to CBRN emergencies.

As representative of one of the Partner Institutes of the Project, your participation to the Strategic Meeting is considered very important. In case you won’t be able to attend the Meeting, we kindly invite you to inform the organizers as soon as possible of another
