(1)CHURCH OF SAINT IGNATIUS OF LOYOLA IGLESIA DE SAN IGNACIO DE LOYOLA Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Sexto Domingo del Tiempo Ordinario February 14th, 2021. Be made clean. Límpiame..

(2) Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time Š February 14th, 2021 Lev 13:1-2, 22-46 Š 1 Cor 10:31-11:1 Š Mark 1:40-45. From the Desk of the Pastor Dear Parishioners, We enter Lent this year, like none other we’ve entered before. The dispensation from the Sunday obligation to attend Mass is still prudently in force; the livestream Masses continue to draw a larger attendance than even the combined numbers attending the public weekend Masses we offer; and the wearing of masks and other safety protocols are still very much in place for all our public gatherings. In the past, however, Lent always saw a surge in attendance at weekday and weekend Masses. On Ash Wednesday we needed all thumbs on deck to distribute ashes; on Palm Sunday we needed an ample supply of Palm; and on Easter Sunday we needed extra Masses. Sadly, that will be absent from our planning this year. On a positive note, however, we will be offering (virtually, of course) a number of wonderful opportunities. I invite you, to stay connected with our new group Facebook page, to stay healthy, with a return of what we are now appropriately calling a Lenten At Home Wellness Retreat, to stay informed with our LGBTQ+ series, to stay spiritually attuned with our Steadfast Call to Love program, and much more. As much as we can virtually offer, it is still not the same as our gathering together at the Church. This lacuna alone in our OLIHDV&DWKROLFVLVDOUHDG\DUHDOVDFULÀFHDQGZD\RI IDVWLQJDV a community. For that reason, more than ever we may need to take to heart the attitude of feasting offered in the Lenten Prayer I’ve shared with you in past bulletins. May this prayer become an even deeper spiritual reality for us during this Lenten Season like none other. Happy Lent, Fr. Joe Prayer on page 3. Ash Wednesday Mass Wednesday, February 17th, 7:00 p.m. Livestream & Limited Seating First Come, First Served https://youtu.be/TBRokjeIP3E. Stay Tuned for a YouTube video about making and administering ashes during this pandemic. Watch for a Flocknote or visit our website.. 2/Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time. Monday, February 15th Parish Office Closed.

(11) Peace, Justice, and Reconcilation Commission Care of Creation Lenten Reflections The Green Team invites you to dig deeper to hear the cry of the earth and the poor, to connect more deeply with the teachings of Scripture and Laudato Si', and to discern our call to action with these Lenten Reflections on the Care for Creation. Produced by R. Emmet Farrell and edited by Mr. Roman Fernandez, Diocese of San Diego Creation Care Network, these daily email reflections will guide us throughout our 40 day Lenten journey. To receive these daily reflections, please email: [email protected]. Prayer: God of all, we confess our complicity in failing to be good stewards of your creation. We ask your forgiveness as we seek to live in the light, walking gently on your earth, looking for ways to replenish what we have taken away, to heal what we have damaged. Purpose: Our personal actions cannot replace meaningful changes in policy, but they do add up — directly, by lowering our footprint, and indirectly, by sending signals to the rest of the world. Those signals help move money, change minds, inspire others, and drive good political policy. Living a little more sustainably can be good for you, your pocketbook, and the world around you. So why not start today? Action Tips: •Calculate your carbon footprint https://www.nature.org/en-us/get-involved/how-to-help/carbon-footprint-calculator/ •Go plastic free (refuse single use, overpackaged items, straws) •Commit to meatless days (as many per week as possible) •Compost kitchen scraps •Incorporate car free days •Buy less, buy local, buy used •Join a group to advocate for climate change legislation •Plant a tree •Feed the birds •Use your voice to advocate for climate justice. 11/Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time.
