CLIMATE CHANGE

We change the climate.

We increase greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane in the atmosphere by using fossil fuels, destroying forests, and engaging in intensive farming and animal husbandry activities.

These gases cause the atmosphere to trap more heat and lead to warming of the planet.

The average temperature of the Earth has increased more than 1 degree in the last century. It may sound like a little. But even such an increase has serious consequences on the planet's climate system.

Heavy rains, droughts, heat waves and floods are increasing in frequency and strength. Glaciers are melting, oceans are warming, sea levels are rising.

Ecosystems that cannot adapt to this change are deteriorating, and wildlife is rapidly disappearing.

Our health, food, access to fresh water and livelihoods depend on a balanced climate and the continuity of ecosystems.

If we do not take action, the average temperature of the planet will continue to rise and the climate crisis we are in will deepen.

It is still possible to limit the global temperature rise to the critical threshold of 1.5 degrees.

A solution requires determination and action on a global scale. As individuals, we can also contribute to this solution.

We all cause greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere as a result of our lifestyles and consumption habits. We can reduce the pressure we create on our planet with individual steps.

For example, we can consume as much as we need, barter instead of buy, save energy, re-evaluate our mode of transportation.

We can talk to our family and friends about climate change and get them to think about how they can make a difference.

By making our voices heard, we can ask them to end greenhouse gas emissions and protect ecosystems.

We can take responsibility for our planet.
