Upgrade TC for MEG2

On behalf of TC group

PSI 10 May 2012

(2)

Preliminary test on SiPM array

SensL ArraySL-4-30035-CER

Single Pixel active area 3.05 x 3.05 mm2

Operating voltage (typical) 29.5V

Array layout 4 x 4 pixels

Total array active area 13.4 x 13.4 = 180 mm2

(3)

Test conditions

Here the polarization circuit (see the separation in 4 group of 4 pixel each):

(4)

A diode laser source at 405nm, 200 ps width injects light in an optical fiber

The signal can be analyzed by means of a 6GHz Tektronix scope or a Lecroy 1GHz.

Preliminary tests just started.

(5)

Hamamatsu

S11828-3344M

Advansid ASD-

SiPM4S-P- 4×4T

Single pixel area 4x4mm2

Active area 4x3x16mm2

Operating voltage 35+/-7 V

Future plans

- Extensive tests in the laboratory of the SiPM prototypes - Tests under magnetic field

- Equipping a few bars with different geometry read by SiPM - Test in laboratory with radiation sources

- Test in BTF compared with a 'standard' bar

- Step by step simulation to identify the sources of errors in time measurement

- Mechanical studies on the integration of TC in MEG2
