La procedura sperimentale adottata ha garantito contemporanei spostamenti e condizioni ambientali per le cellule esposte alle radiazioni e per quelle di controllo, tuttavia soltanto il microscopio confocale era munito di atmosfera a flusso controllato di CO2 al 5% con temperatura tenuta costante di 37°C. Per contro il setup per l'esposizione

al laser terahertz era privo di atmosfera controllata e si è svolto a temperatura ambiente di circa 20 °C. Dunque, sebbene le medesime condizioni ambientali contingenti presenti nel laboratorio al momento degli esperimenti siano state garantite per trattati e controlli, non è stato possibile assicurare valori ottimali di temperatura e CO2 durante l'esposizione al

laser,, potenzialmente dando luogo a alterazioni della fisiologia e biologia cellulare dei campioni durante l'irraggiamento.

Un elemento che dovrebbe essere preso in considerazione in futuri studi i quali vogliano ispirarsi al presente, è la diffrazione della radiazione THz nel mezzo acquoso la quale potrebbe influenzare minimamente le cellule di controllo.

La linea cellulare utilizzata è estremamente resistente e sicuramente altre linee non tumorali possono essere considerate migliori modelli per le cellule del corpo umano

Ulteriori studi sono raccomandabili per chiarire elementi così cruciali della interazione di questa parte dello spettro elettromagnetico la quale è destinata ad aumentare negli ambienti in cui viviamo, sia per usi legati alla sicurezza, che per usi in ambiti lavorativi industriali, telecomunicazioni a breve distanza e per applicazioni biomediche di imaging.
