4.3 Limiti e sviluppi futuri
Come anticipato nel capitolo 3, il primo limite riguarda le considerazioni fatte sulla distribuzione delle frequenze assolute della variabile CONTINENTE: le riviste scientifiche più importanti a livello globale (nella maggior parte dei campi di ricerca), infatti, sono proprio quelle Americane, quindi il fatto che l’America risulti essere il Continente in cui si parla maggiormente di Digital Health da un punto di vista scientifico, risulta essere un risultato facilmente prevedibile. Un secondo limite riguarda il fatto che non è stato possibile costruire variabili ex - novo per analizzare in maniera più approfondita le varie logiche caratterizzanti la Digital Health.
Infine, le analisi preliminari relative alle due banche dati (capitolo 3, sezioni A e D) hanno una valenza esclusivamente descrittiva limitata ai 3.577 articoli analizzati, al contrario delle altre analisi i cui risultati sono estendibili (con le note cautele teoriche) all’universo degli articoli sulla Digital Health.
Ricerche future potrebbero concentrarsi sia sull’aggiornamento di tale elaborato sia sull’analisi del grado effettivo di sviluppo della Digital Health da un punto di vista geografico, per capire se, ad esempio, sussiste una relazione tra il grado di sviluppo effettivo stesso e le modalità linguistiche adottate dall’informazione divulgativa e/o scientifica per discutere del tema oggetto di studio; da tale analisi sarebbe possibile capire in quale misura la discussione pubblica influenza effettivamente l’evoluzione di un field in via di sviluppo come quello della Digital Health.
