9. NOTE AGGIUNTIVE
Parte dei risultati esposti nel corso di questa tesi sono stati oggetto di due lavori ai quali ho partecipato attivamente durante il periodo di dottorato: “Changes in neuronal response to ischemia in retinas with genetic alterations of somatostatin receptor expression” (The European Journal of Neuroscience, 2007); “Antiangiogenic role of somatostatin receptor 2 in
a model of hypoxia-induced neovascularization in the retina: results from transgenic mice” (Investigative Ophthalmology & Visual Science. 2007).
Oltre al principale argomento di ricerca del mio dottorato esposto nel corso di questa tesi, durante il periodo di dottorato mi sono occupato dello studio della modulazione somatostatinergica dei meccanismi che regolano l’epilessia. I risulati di tale studio hanno contribuito alla realizzazione di un lavoro di ricerca pubblicato su The European Journal of Neurosciece, dal titolo “Compensatory changes in the hippocampus of somatostatin knockout mice: upregulation of somatostatin receptor 2 and its function in the control of bursting activity and synaptic transmission (2006)”.
