He worked as a lawyer in South Africa for 20 years.
4. In 1914 Gandhi
returned to India.
He became a political activist and led (guidò) the movement
for India’s indipendence from
the British Empire.
5. He became very
popular with the Indian people. 6. He went to prison several times and he refused to eat in prison as a protest. 7. In 1930 the “Salt March” was one of Gandhi’s most successful protests. 8. In 1947 Britain
proposed the formation of two new indipendent
countries: • India • Pakistan 9. A Hindu nationalist assassinated him in Delhi on 30th January 1948.
