Galactic recycling:

the HI ring around NGC 1533

• NGC 1533 imaged in 21-cm with

the ATCA

• HI associates with IC2038 (northern

companion)

• NW and SE cloud

• Total HI mass of the system is 7x109

M⊙

• Radius of HI ring is from 2’ to 11.7’
