Publication ethics and publication malpractice

DISEGNARECON is a non-commercial scientific journal, based on OJS standards. The journal publishes on-line articles that are subject to a clear double blind peer-review process. The Ethics Code adopted by the journal refers to the Principles of Transparency and Good Practices defined by DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals) and COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

DUTIES OF THE EDITORIAL DIRECTOR, EDITOR IN CHIEF, OF THE EDITORS OF THE SINGLE VOLUMES, OF THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTEE, OF THE EDITORIAL BOARD

The Editorial Director is responsible for publishing the articles submitted to the journal, in accordance with his editorial approach and legal provisions in respect of defamation, copyright infringement and plagiarism.

The Editor in Chief is responsable of the scientific line of the issues. The Editorial Team supports the Editor in chief in the scientific and editorial management of the journal.

The Scientific Committee is composed by well-known personalities in the research areas of interest of the journal. The Scientific Committee assists the Director in defining the cultural line of the journal but does not play an editorial

(6)

role and does not participate in the Editorial board. The Scientific Committee is reviewed every three years.

The Editor in chief and the Journal Manager have the responsibility to ensure the review process.

The Editorial Director, the Editor in chief, the Editors of the single issues and the Editorial Team are required to evaluate the authors and manuscripts, as far as they are concerned, exclusively for their scientific content, without distinction of race, sex, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship,

scientific, academic or political orientation of the authors.

The Editor in Chief, the Journal Manager, the editors of the single volumes, and the Editorial Team are required to not disclose any information about the manuscripts received to any subject other than the authors and, as far as they are concerned, to reviewers.

The unpublished material contained in the manuscripts submitted to the Journal cannot be used by the Editor in chief, by the Editorial Team , by the Editors of the single volumes, by the Journal manager, or by the reviewers, without the written consent of the author.

The process of reviewing of any eventual Supplements or Special Numbers is the same as used for ordinary volumes. Journal sections that are not subject to review procedures will be clearly identified.

DUTIES OF THE REVIEWERS

A selected reviewer who doesn’t feel qualified to review an article or who is prevented to make a quick review, will have to ask to the editors of the single volume or to the Editorial Board to be exonerated from the review process. Each received article to be submitted to the review process, will be treated as a confidential document and - as such - should not be shown or discussed with others, with the exception of the subjects authorized by the Editors.

The reviews hace to be carried out in an objective way, and the reviewers 'communications should be clear and reasoned.

If the reviewers notice the existence of published works not mentioned by the authors, they have to report it to the Editors.

Information or ideas obtained through the review process have to be kept confidential and not used for personal gain. Furthermore, the reviewers do not have to review articles that may be subject to conflicts of interest arising from competition, collaboration, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies or institutions associated with the article.

DUTIES OF THE AUTHORS

The authors undertake to submit to the journal contributions that have not been previously published in other scientific journals. Furthermore, the authors warrant that the published articles and images are not subject to copyright. The quotations of sources and of others' works is under the responsibility of the authors.

The proposed contributions have to contain precise quotations of the sources, reference materials, works and / or other author's words. The fraudulent or deliberately inaccurate statements by the authors represent inappropriate and unacceptable behaviors. The author undertakes, under his own responsibility, to obtain the disclaimer for the images covered by copyright and to provide, if necessary, a written disclaimer to the Editor in chief of the journal.

The author relieves the journal from any culpability in case of a controversy. If necessary, authors can be required to provide rough data in relation to the editorial review of an article, and they should be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable period of time after the publication.

The co-author's qualification should be guaranteed and limited to anyone who has made a significant contribution to the ideation, execution or interpretation of the elements that constitute each submitted article. If there were other people who have participated in significant but not substantial aspects of the research project, they have to be cited as collaborators of the research. The reference author have to ensure that all co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the article and have accepted its submission for publication.

If an author discovers any inaccuracies or any significant errors in his published article, he must quickly notify it to the journal's Editor in chief and collaborate with him for the necessary correction.
