BES 11 categories of welfare and corresponding indicators
- The domains of welfare are composed by 58 indicators proposed by the BES. 27 of them were not available for the Costa Rican case. There were two variables proposed as adequate (in blue) for the context of describing the welfare of Costa Rica, and two indicators in the education category were used in a similar variable
- The context dimensions/categories are considered to be less variable. As this denomination shows they are assets formed during a prolonged historical-cultural process, therefore, they are kind of “fixed” during the short run, though their state can certainly vary.
