Abbiamo già detto che alla forma affermativa, il significato di
HAVE TO
è
simile a quello di MUST, ovvero obbligo/ necessità di fare qualcosa
COME SI FORMA
Diversamente da Must che è: invariabile, non ha la forma al passato, è
seguito dal verbo senza il to…
La forma positiva Have To si coniuga in questo modo: (+) I have to go
you have to go es: We have to get a bus to school (necessario)
he/she/it has to go My brother has to travel a lot in his job (è richiesto dal suo capo)
we have to go You have to go to school every day (è imposto dalla legge)
you have to go they have to go
La forma negative di MUST era MUSTN’T e significava: divieto/proibizione;
Alla forma negativa Don’t have to SIGNIFICA: non è necessario fare qualcosa.
La forma negativa di Have to è:
(-) I don’t have to go es: We don’t have to hurry: we’re early
you don’t have to go (non è necessario affrettarsi, siamoin tempo)
he/she/it/ doesn’t have to go
we don’t have to go es :I don’t have to get up early on Sunday.
you don’t have to go I can stay in bed if I want.
they don’t have to go (Non è necessario alzarsi presto la domenica.
La forma interrogativa. Contrariamente a MUST, abbiamo una forma interrogativa:

Do you have to go? Yes, He does/ No, he doesn’t Does he/she/it/ have to go?
Do we have to go? Do you have to go?
