On ll. 12-21, the first section of the motivation clause contains a long and detailed reference to Athenian laws about the city's duties toward its honoured benefactors.

Measurements: h: 0.421 * w: 0.361 * t: 0.07State of conservation: The stone preserves the upper part of the
stele with the cymatio molding.
Legibility: The inscribed surface is rather damaged, especially on ll. 23
and ff., where most of the letters are completely eroded.

Maybe near the decree IG 2[2] 467, honouring the grandfather of the honourand, Timosthenes s. of Demophanos of Karystos, referred to in ll. 21 sqq. of the present decree (IG 2[2] 467, was found on March 1859, North of the Propylaia, among the ruins of the dome, see ARMA 5 no. 1124).
