Readiness for emergencies is a challenging and complicated task to every government. It requires a regulatory institutional structure which crosses sectors, both on the level of governmental power, domains, and in terms of the numerous fields of expertise it requires for effective policy and action.

Different countries have established different institutions and mechanisms that are meant to mitigate, prepare, manage and orchestrate their coping with emergencies before, during and after they occur.

The Symposium will bring together scholars from different countries for an in-depth discussion onemergencies and governance, and to compare different regimes vis-à-vis the Israeli case. Program
