La rottura del legamento crociato anteriore rappresenta una delle patologie che più frequentemente causano zoppia posteriore nel cane. La principale funzione del legamento crociato anteriore è quella di impedire lo scivolamento craniale della tibia. Come conseguenza della rottura di tale legamento si ha instabilità del ginocchio, che si può mettere in evidenza clinicamente per mezzo del segno del cassetto craniale e del test di compressione tibiale. Numerose tecniche chirurgiche sono state sviluppate negli anni per il trattamento della rottura del legamento crociato. Queste, divise in extracapsulari ed intracapsulari, prevedono il ripristino della funzione del ginocchio, ottenuta o attraverso la sostituzione del legamento rotto con materiali autologhi o eterologhi, o attraverso la sostituzione della sua funzione con tiranti o trasposizioni ossee. Negli ultimi anni, con l’evoluzione degli studi sulla biomeccanica del ginocchio, sono state messe a punto nuove tecniche chirurgiche che prevedono di annullare il ruolo del legamento crociato anteriore annullando la spinta tibiale craniale con specifici tagli effettuati sulla tibia. In questo studio è stata presa in esame una variante di una recente tecnica extracapsulare che pone le sue basi sulla tecnica di embricatura del retinacolo proposta nel 1970. Tale tecnica prevede l’utilizzo di una “suture screw” per l’ancoraggio del filo di sutura. La validità della tecnica è stata valutata attraverso la valutazione del grado di zoppia al F.U., in 9 soggetti; i risultati preliminari indicano un buon comfort nel periodo post operatorio. Questo perchè il filo non è ancorato prossimalmente alla fabella ma ad una vite.

Cranial cruciate ligament injury is one of the most common causes of hindlimb

lameness in dogs. The main function of the cranial cruciate ligament is to avoid cranial tibial slope,

and after the rupture we can observe joint instability of the stifle. Clinically, we can appreciate this

instability by cranial tibial compression test and cranial drawer test. Lots of surgical techniques have

been developed during the years to treat cranial cruciate ligament rupture in the dog. The aim of the fist

type of techniques was to repair the ligament ruptured using different kind of material. These techniques

are divided in two groups: intra-capsular and extra-capsular provide for the restoration of function of the

knee, or obtained by replacing the ligament broke with autologous or eterologous materials, or through

the replacement of its function with tie rods or transpositions bone. In recent years, with the evolution of

the studies on biomechanics of the knee were developed new surgical techniques, their aim is not to

repair the ligament ruptured, but to cancel the cranial tibial slope, making some specific cuts on the

proximal tibia. . In this study has been taken in examination a variation of a recent extracapsular

technique that sets her bases on the technique of retinacle embrication proposed in the 1970. This

technique involves the use of a suture screw "to anchor the wire suture. The validity of the technique was

evaluated by assessing the degree of lameness to FU in 9 subjects, the preliminary results indicate a good

comfort in the post-operative period. This is because the thread is anchored to the proximal fabella but
