Lugana

The region is called Lugana and it’s located along the southern banks of Lake Garda very close to Verona.

Lugana focuses on a white grape they call Turbiana for both sparkling and still wines.Turbiana is indeed unique. The high quality examples have notes of pineapple, mandarin orange with a round and lush style

supported by the classic Italian ‘green almond’ flavor.

Barbaresco

The mostly soils in Barbaresco, along with its slightly milder climate results in wines with noticeably less tannins than Barolo. This does not mean is not tannic, is just more elegant and delicate. The family rejected shortcuts, commercially driven compromises on quality which would have required the vines to be planted densely, large concentrations of vines and the use of chemicals.

They refused to embrace trends that had erased the identity of entire regions, companies and their wines.

Castello di Monsanto has followed this strategy ever since its creation – and these are the decisions that have made it what it is today, despite them meaning having to take a harder path.

Brunello di Montalcino

Brunello di Montalcino is one of Italy’s top regional wines, first labeled as such in 1865 by Biondi-Santi.

Wines are made with 100% special clone of Sangiovese, called Brunello or Prugnolo Gentile.

Due to its thicker-skinned berries, Brunello produces wines with exceptionally bold fruit flavors, high tannin, and high acidity. Brunello, with its savory punch and brilliant acidity make it a fair contender with richly flavored red meats, tomato-based dishes and Tuscan-inspired fare that highlights olive oil and vinegar.
