Keywords: extensional tectonics, magma/sm, skarn, gravita/onal sliding, transfer zone A unifying model linking the extensional regional tectonic and the local magma/c and hydrothermal features observed at Campiglia Mari>ma is proposed. The paper is focussed on the anomalous structures, mass displacement, rock fracturing, and hydrothermal mineraliza/ons developed near the Botro ai Marmi pluton that can not explained invoking regional tectonic processes alone. The results make a contribu/on to the knowledge of the mechanisms by which magma can displace its host rocks, triggering local deforma/on that in turn generates geological traps for later magmas and hydrothermal fluids, with implica/ons on surveying for targets in ore and geothermal explora/on.
