Abstract
Logistics and transports represent a very complex and wide field that acquires extremely importance in the global value chain, since it allows connecting different parts of the world in every moment.
Thanks to the development of logistics and to the transition from parcelled, integrated and supply chain management, it is increased the possibility of outsourcing complex services; the most common is the transport service. Outsourcing function implies considerable risks and above all benefits, which improve the level of performance offered and enable cost reduction and rapidity of logistics processes.
After having analysed the different types of transports and the reasons that lead companies to choose for a given mode, based on advantages and disadvantages offered, the analysis of the present dissertation focuses on road freight transport service performed by logistics operators.
The aim is that of highlighting the method and the selective criteria used by companies when opting for a specific operator and the motives that lead them to change it in case of dissatisfaction.
The research goes on by paying particular attention on two essential aspects related to the transport service: costs and performance. The first aspect has to do with the influencing factors for the determination of transport tariff that indicate the level of price to offer during the sale of the service. Conversely, the second aspect concerns key performance indicators related to the management of transport functions and to the determination of the quality level of the service.
The aim is that of achieving the customer satisfaction, which is not always free of problems, and most of times it is also reached thanks to the cooperation between different logistics service providers.
The dissertation concludes with the analysis of the case study of the enterprise “Transports Tresserras, S.A.”, which is a Spanish company, specialized in the transport of refrigerated and pharmaceutical products. The final purpose is that of identifying how the company faces these two aspects, by applying the above-mentioned methodology.
Riassunto
La logistica e i trasporti rappresentano un ambito di estrema vastità e complessità e al tempo stesso di fondamentale importanza nella catena globale del valore, in quanto permettono di collegare diverse parti del mondo in qualsiasi momento.
Con il continuo sviluppo della logistica e del passaggio da parcellizzata, integrata fino al totale controllo della catena di fornitura, è aumentata considerevolmente la possibilità di esternalizzare alcuni tra i più complessi servizi, tra questi il più diffuso è il trasporto. Ciò implica notevoli rischi ma altrettanti benefici, dovuti principalmente al miglioramento del livello di prestazione offerto, alla riduzione dei costi ed all’aumento di rapidità nei processi logistici.
L’analisi del presente elaborato, dopo aver analizzato i diversi tipi di trasporto esistenti e i motivi che spingono le aziende a privilegiarne una determinata modalità, in base ai pro e i contro da essi offerti, si concentra sul servizio di trasporto merci su strada effettuato dagli operatori logistici, evidenziando l’approccio e i criteri selettivi utilizzati dalle aziende nella scelta di uno specifico operatore e le ragioni che influiscono a cambiarlo in caso di insoddisfazione.
La ricerca continua focalizzandosi su due aspetti fondamentali relativi al servizio di trasporto offerto: i costi e la performance. Il primo aspetto riguarda i fattori influenzanti la determinazione della tariffa di trasporto che definiscono il livello di prezzo da offrire per la vendita del servizio. Il secondo, invece, concerne gli indicatori di performance più comuni per la gestione delle attività relative al trasporto e per la determinazione del livello di qualità del servizio. L’obiettivo è il raggiungimento della soddisfazione della clientela, non sempre esente da problemi, che spesso può essere ottenuta anche grazie alla cooperazione tra diversi partner logistici. L’elaborato si conclude con l’analisi del caso studio dell’azienda spagnola “Transports Tresserras, S.A.”, specializzata nel trasporto di prodotti refrigerati e farmaceutici, il cui scopo è quello di identificare il modo in cui l’impresa affronta questi due aspetti applicando la suddetta metodologia.
Zusammenfassung
Logistik und Transporte gehören zu einem komplizierten und weiten Bereich, dem zur gleichen Zeit eine bedeutungsvolle und wichtige Rolle in der globalen Wertschöpfungskette spielt, um verschiedene Teile der Welt zu jeder Zeit zu verbinden.
Durch die kontinuierliche Entwicklung der Logistik, hat es deutlich vermehrt die Möglichkeit einige von die komplizierten Dienste zu externalisieren, darunter ist die häufigste der Transportdienst. Dies bedeutet erhebliche Risiken, aber viele Vorteile, aufgrund der
Verbesserung des angeboten Niveaus der Leistung, der Kostensenkung und der Erhöhung der Geschwindigkeit der logistischen Prozessen.
Nach der Untersuchung der verschiedenen Verkehrsmittel und der Gründen von Unternehmen verwendet, um einen bestimmten Transport Modalität zu wählen, konzentriert sich die Analyse dieser Arbeit auf die Frachttransporte auf der Straße von Logistikunternehmen durchgeführt.
Das Ziel ist die Auswahlkriterien von Firmen benutzt, während des Auswahlprozesses der spezifischen Logistikunternehmen, und die Gründe für den Wandel im Fall von Unzufriedenheit zu unterstreichen.
Die Forschung setzt weiterhin auf zwei wichtige Fragen im Zusammenhang mit den angebotenen Transportdienst: Kosten und Leistung. Die erste Frage bezieht sich auf den Einflussfaktoren für die Bestimmung des Transport-Tarifs, um das Preisniveau für den Verkauf des Dienstes zu definieren. Dagegen betriff die zweite Frage die Leistungsindikatoren für das Transportmanagement und um das Niveau der Qualität des Dienstes zu ermitteln. Das Ziel ist die Kundenzufriedenheit zu erreichen, die nicht immer frei von Problemen ist und auch durch die Zusammenarbeit zwischen verschiedenen Logistikpartnern erreicht werden kann.
Die Arbeit endet mit einer Fallstudie-Analyse vor der spanischen Firma „Transports Tresserras, S.A.“ auf den Transport von gekühlten und Arzneimitteln spezialisiert.
Die vorliegende Fallstudie soll ermitteln, wie das Unternehmen diese beiden Aspekte behandelt, durch die Anwendung der besagten Methodologie.
