Abstract
A very broadband high power amplifier (operating on several decades) represents a fundamental element of broadcasting communication system. Its realization constitutes a remarkable technical engagement. The design of the entire system has been made through theoretical and analytical methods finally improved with the aid of specific CAD. The use of a power LDMOS gemini of last generation as active element has represented an optimal solution. Rigorous study of Transmission Line Transformers (TLTs) and analysis of factors limiting performances, has allowed to develop a correct and realistic model of power amplifier’s blocks. The constructive parameters has been chosen to assure broadcast transmission in every working and ambient condition. Preliminary analysis of theoretical problem has also allowed to interpret in correct way numerical simulation results. This confirm advantages, in design, given by numerical CAD when they are supported by rigorous theoretical replies.
