Non solo Durini, parte il nuovo concept interno all’Associazione MDD: “Milano Design District”, per raggruppare in maniera coesa e sinergica i principali fl agship stores di Design del centro città.
L’Associazione Milano Durini Design è in costante crescita oggi forte di 42 associati tra i più importanti brand di design conosciuti in tutto il mondo.
E così che MDD -Milano Durini Design District- partendo proprio dalla volontà delle aziende presenti in centro, darà vita a questo nuovo brand interno all’associazione maggiormente inclusivo e partecipativo:
MILANO DESIGN DISTRICT.
L’obiettivo fi nale è quello di raggruppare all’interno di un progetto associativo, sinergico e di condivisione, le eccellenze del Design in centro città; un URBAN HUB
DESIGN riconoscibile in termini di valoree contenuto, alla pari di altri importanti distretti mondiali, come ad esempio:
Miami Design District, London Design District, Shanghai Design District,

Per la 60° edizione della Design Week la School boutique di Via Cerva 24 aprirà le sue porte al pubblico e inviterà tutta la città a “Expanded Universes”, la line up di eventi ed esposizioni fi rmati Istituto Marangoni.
Sarà possibile visitare anche “Discovering The Future”, l’attesissimo e tradizionale Degree Show dei 9 migliori progetti delle aree di Product, Interior e Visual Design dell’anno accademico 2020/2021. Durante la notte bianca dell’8 giugno, la School of Design aprirà le sue porte per ballare sulle note di Chiara Luzzana, Sound Artist &
Sound Designer che ha realizzato, insieme agli studenti, l’audio logo e la colonna sonora uffi ciale di Istituto Marangoni.
The Milano Durini Design Association is constantly growing and today counts 42 members, including the most important design brands known worldwide.
So at the behest of companies in the city centre MDD, the Milano Durini Design District, has created a new, more participatory and inclusive in-house brand:
the MILANO DESIGN DISTRICT.
The aim is to create a collaborative partnership project to unite Design excellence in the city centre. An URBAN
HUB DESIGN with recognisablevalue and content, on a par with other important international design districts like the Miami Design District, the London Design District and the Shanghai Design District,

For the 60th Design Week, the School boutique on 24 Via Cerva will open its doors to the public and invite the whole city to
“Expanded Universes”, a lineup of events and exhibitions by Istituto Marangoni.
Come and visit “Discovering The Future”, the traditional Degree Show of the 9 best projects in Product, Interior and Visual Design for the academic year 2020/2021 The highly anticipated “white night”, on the other hand, is taking place on June 8th.
The School of Design will open its doors to dance with Chiara Luzzana – the Sound Artist & Sound Designer who worked with students to create the Istituto Marangoni audio logo and offi cial soundtrack.

Marazzi per Milano Durini Design
Lo spazio espositivo di Marazzi in via Borgogna 2, progettato da Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, presenta le nuove collezioni in ceramica e gres. Tra le novità in mostra, la speciale collezione Puro Marazzi Antibacterial The Top, a spessore 12 mm, che conferisce ai top di cucine e bagni proprietà antibatteriche che si uniscono alle caratteristiche di sicurezza e igiene del gres porcellanato. Finiture eff etto cemento, marmo e pietra, tra cui il nuovo Travertino Classico, per applicazioni senza limiti in ogni ambiente dell’architettura.
Marazzi’s exhibition space at Via Borgogna 2, designed by Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel, presents its new ceramic and stoneware collections. The new products on show include the special Puro Marazzi Antibacterial The Top collection, 12 mm thick, which gives kitchen and bathroom tops antibacterial properties that are combined with the safety and hygiene features of porcelain stoneware. Concrete, marble and stone eff ect fi nishes, including the new Travertino Classico, for limitless applications in every architectural environment.

Luxury Living Group has chosen Via Durini to present its collection and its new brand Luxence Luxury Living. On Milan’s famous furnishings street, Luxence fully expresses its storytelling ability and the interpretative talent that sets the Group apart. With four large street-facing windows and a surface area of 500 square metres over diff erent fl oors, the new store is an engaging space in which each piece reveals itself in all of its uniqueness and versatility. SCIC presenta la cucina Labirinto in una nuova veste stilistica:
il progetto dello studio Cattaneo Design trae ispirazione dal celebre labirinto della Masone, di Franco Maria Ricci, riprendendo gli stilemi degli edifi ci di ispirazione neoclassica che lo caratterizzano.
L’estetica propria di questo luogo riecheggia nella linearità e nei volumi defi niti della nuova versione di Labirinto, che prevede linee semplici e nette e una speciale attenzione alla scelta dei materiali attraverso l’accostamento di acciaio inox verniciato lavagna alle strutture in legno noce canaletto.
SCIC is previewing the Labirinto kitchen in a new chromatic interpretation; the original design project by Cattaneo Design draws inspiration from the renowned Masone labyrinth, by Franco Maria Ricci. The aesthetic and stylistic precision characterizing this location are refl ected in the linearity and neatly chiseled volumes of the Labirinto kitchen, interpreted in simple, unfussy lines with a particular focus on the choice of materials in which slate-lacquered stainless steel is teamed up with canaletto walnut structures.

Il fl agship store di via Durini rinnovato da Fabio Novembre diventa la scenografi a dove scoprire le novità e i nuovi rivestimenti eco-fi ber. Inoltre, il cortile di Palazzo Durini Caproni di Taliedo adiacente lo showroom ospita Germogli, una poetica installazione ambientale di Marcantonio: giganteschi germogli di ulivo nascono dal terreno celebrando la nascita di una nuova vita.
Natuzzi Italia presents The Circle of Harmony – Second Life, under the creative direction of Pasquale Junior Natuzzi, envisions Marcantonio with Terra pouf and Marcel Wanders studio with Adam collection. The Milano Design Week 2022 sees the opening of ATELIER ALCHYMIA, on the fi rst fl oor of an exclusive historical building at number 7 of Via Durini.
The prestigious location of the brand’s Milanese headquarter, chosen by its owners, the Doro family, perfectly mirrors ALCHYMIA’s new identity.
After its worldwide growth, ALCHYMIA can now easily fi nd its place in the Via Durini district, next to the key players’ fl agship stores. This year ALCHYMIA is showing at both the Atelier and the Salone del Mobile at Rho fair. The Magritte collection is the result of a conceptual work that investigates the idea of a chandelier to the point of rethinking and deconstructing it. Inspired by the surrealist language, the new Barovier&Toso collection presents itself with a scenographic and elegant layout, on multiple levels, as tradition dictates, but in reality, it reveals a new and avant-garde design. The classic central core with arms leaves room for a modular satellite system, conceived to be extended concentrically, like a cloud of light and blown glass.

During the Milan Design Week 2022, the Salvioni Milano Durini showroom renews its spaces by hosting two major international design brands: Acerbis and Talenti. In the more than 1250 square meters of exhibition space, these two protagonists of excellence enrich the window in via Durini and the multiple terraces of the showroom with two important installations designed by David Lopez Quincoces and Francesco Meda for Acerbis and Ludovica + Roberto Palomba for Talenti. All’interno, la Maison presenterà il mobile-scultura Polygonia, nuovo progetto del designer Giacomo Garziano e reinterpretazione della credenza Zephyrus, nata nel 2017. Una futura icona della Maison realizzata con una sorprendente simmetria diagonale.
Il divano Blogger, invece, esaltato da un nuovo rivestimento elastico e seducente, è perfetto per reinterpretare l’estetica capitonné. Un imbottito tutto curve che invita al relax.
Roche Bobois opens the doors to its new flagship store in via Cavallotti 14 with an exceptional setting realized by the Spanish collective Wanda. The Maison will also host the presentation of Polygonia, sculpture-furniture and new project of the designer Giacomo Garziano: a reinterpretation of his Zephyrus sideboard, created in 2017, and a future icon of the brand characterized by a surprising diagonal symmetry. The Blogger sofa, instead, reveals an all-new upholstery: a velvety stretch fabric with a silky feel that perfectly contours the piece’s full shape to offer maximum comfort.

Ethimo presents its new collection, in which outdoor furniture is all about contemporary details, welcoming modular seating solutions, and accessories that recall artisan craftsmanship, enhancing the texture of each element. SIT is a versatile and contemporary collection of lounge armchairs, chaise longue and poufs with soft and enveloping lines. It is characterized by a shell with curved profi les, where the backrest element is developed on two sides only, with padding modeled in diff erent thickness to accomodate the person. The result is the possibility to arrange the chair freely, thanks also to the free side that allows an easy combination with a small table or a side table, which in the lounge version can be directly integrated with the structure. SIT is available with fabric or leather upholstery.

Al Salone, pad. 15, stand D24-D26, De Castelli presenta BIOMORPHIC, un lungo lavoro di ricerca sulle tecniche di lavorazione dei metalli di fi ne ‘800, riprese da De Castelli nello sviluppo delle forme organiche delle nuove collezioni sviluppate insieme ai designer Adriano Design, Francesco Forcellini, Luca Pevere, Martinelli Venezia, Roberto Nicoletti, Elisa Ossino, Stormo Studio, Zanellato Bortotto. Nello showroom di Via Visconti di Modrone 20, De Castelli presenta la mostra Tracing Venice, tributo all’unicità di Venezia e ai mosaici della Basilica di San Marco che, interpretati da Zanellato/Bortotto, sono tradotti da De Castelli in sei tableaus parietali in mosaico di rame, ottone e acciaio.
At the Salone trade fair, hall 15, stand D24-D26, De Castelli presents BIOMORPHIC, an exhaustive research into the lost metalworking techniques from the late 19th century, taken up by De Castelli in the development of the organic shapes of the new collections designed together with Adriano Design, Francesco Forcellini, Luca Pevere, Martinelli Venezia, Roberto Nicoletti, Elisa Ossino, Stormo Studio, Zanellato Bortotto. In the showroom in Via Visconti di Modrone 20, De Castelli presents the Tracing Venice exhibition, a tribute to the unique city of Venice and the mosaics of Saint Mark’s Basilica which, interpreted by Zanellato/Bortotto, are translated by De Castelli into six wall tableaux made of copper, brass and steel mosaics.

The Ghisa radiator by Rodolfo Dordoni reconstructs the image of the historic cast iron radiators redesigning their proportions, details, the relationship between full and empty spaces, the joints between the elements, thicknesses, and depth. It’s available in a selection of fi nishes chosen by the designer, and it can be accessorized with hooks and towel rails in polished stainless steel for its use in the bathroom.
