Collaboration agreement between the EEPN2 Network and tbe ReCaS Collaboration
Tbe EENP2 Network and the RECAS Collaboration intend to activate a scientific cooperation in tbe framework ofthe WP3 package "GRID Computer applications".
The PON ReCaS project, funded by tbe ltalian MÌnistry for Scientific Researeh, has the scope of building in Southem Jtaly a distributed computing infrastrueture, based on Grid and Cloud technology, to serve tbe eommunity of experiments at tbe Large Hadron Collider (LHC).
The know out and the expertise of the ReCaS Collaboration on GRID/CLOUD infrastructures and related software developrnent ean signifieantly belp the EENP2 network to pursue succes fully its scientific program in these fields.
We envisage collaboration on the following iterns:
• Training stages of Egyptian seientists in the ReCaS sites to improve tbeir knowledge for a TlER eentre managementlmaintenanee and related software development;
• Adviee of ReCaS experts for tbe set up and running of GRID/CLOUD infrastructure in Egypt;
• Partieipation of ReCaS experts to dedieated training sessions at tbe start up phase of the local Egyptian TIER centers;
The eollaboration on tbe above specified iterns does not imply any financi al commitment by eitber parties. In particular some resourees for travelling and short visits from Europe to Egypt of the ReCaS experts could be made available through tbe management funds available on the beneficiary parties budget of tbe EENP2 Network.
Donation of possible hardware in excess at the ReCaS sites for the set up ofEgyptian TIER centers should be negotiated among the legaI entities participating to ReCaS and EENP2 through formai agreements.
