Un progetto editoriale grintoso, che conta sul- la collaborazione di tenaci pro- fessionisti che hanno creduto e credono in esso. Non vi sono pre- tese nostalgiche o anti moderne, ma soltanto il desiderio di dare quelle sensazioni che si provano sfogliando le sue pagine, senten- do l’odore della stampa, toccarla, guardarla e perché no mostrarla, ma anche il piacere di conservarla per poi riguardarla più in là. Moda & Motori Magazine pre- sents its printed edition with a six- monthly release. The magazine will bring all the latest fashion trends to its readers’ attention. It will dedi- cate interviews to icons of sport, entertainment and recount the trendiest current events.
A gritty editorial project, which re- lies on the collaboration of tena- cious professionals who have be- lieved and continue to believe in it. There are no nostalgic or anti- modern pretensions, only the desire to give the joy of flipping through the pages. Of the fresh smell of the print, of touching the paper, look- ing at it and, why not, showing it off. But also the pleasure of keeping it, and then of looking at it again and again.

Quando è stata la tua prima volta in Italia?
Ho 54 anni e ho iniziato a girare l’Italia quando ne avevo 19. ci sono ritornato nel 1983 a bologna per il mio pri- mo concerto. ora rieccomi qui 35 anni dopo. penso che l’Italia, oltre ad essere un paese fantastico, sia un centro importantissimo per la cultura.
e poi suonare qui è fantastico. la gente ama la musica ed è interessata ad essa.
Cosa ti piace di più dell’Italia?
(sospiro) gli abiti di brunello cucinelli. li trovo mol- to confortevoli perché il tessuto è leggero e quin- di si adattano perfettamente al lavoro di musicista.
In quanto on stage fa sempre molto caldo.
adoro la vespa e le Moto guzzi. colleziono moto, pos- siedo una Honda del 1976, una bMw e una triumph.
Mi piacciono molto anche le alfa romeo, soprattutto le spider. In generale amo le auto vintage con la carrozzeria dalle forme arrotondate come la bugatti.
adoro le ferrari e trovo che siano auto molto interessanti anche se non ne ho mai posseduta una.
In compenso ho una Morgan con motore Mustang. un’au- to molto molto veloce (risata).
Qual è stato il concerto o il musicista che ha ispirato la tua passione?
per quanto riguarda la musica Jazz e l’essere un musicista
jazz devo dire che Mccoy tyner è stato ed è molto importan- te per me. Mentre quando ero giovane mi piacevano molto i caravan, una band inglese che suonava rock progressive.
Ci sono diversi modi in cui le cose trovano la strada attraverso di noi o siamo noi a definirle?
Si è vero...penso che oggi, nell’era moderna e tecnologica in cui viviamo, la gente ami le cose autentiche. pensiamo al vinile. oggi con la tecnologia che abbiamo la gente continua a comprare i dischi in vinile perché è qualcosa di autentico, di reale. per cui si può dire che vi è un modo diverso di pensare, riguardo la musica, i vestiti, le auto.
c’è questa considerazione che tutto ciò che sia fatto arti- gianalmente sia autentico. per cui vi è anche una ricerca in questa autenticità e bellezza, dobbiamo essere sempre aperti ad essa.tempo fa ho comprato una moto prodotta artigianalmente a Milano, la black-douglas. Sono moto Sterling vintage costruite interamente a mano. e sono belle per questo motivo.
Come è arrivata l’idea di scrivere temi come quello di Starsky and Hutch, Goldfinger e Blow-Up?
Quando ero un adolescente, vivevo in una noiosa cit- tadina dove non succedeva niente e in più il tempo era sempre grigio. così quando guardavo questo telefilm con dei posti stupendi era qualcosa di eccitante per me. la stessa cosa per il film di James bond goldfinger, il film è

When was your first time in Italy?
I am 54 years old and I started traveling around Italy when I was 19. I went to bologna in 1983 for my first concert and now I’m back here 35 years later. I think that Italy, besides being a fantastic country, is a very im- portant centre for culture. also, playing here is fantastic.
people love music and are interested in it.
What do you like more of Italy?
(sigh) the clothes of brunello cucinelli. I find them very com- fortable because the fabric is light and they adapt perfectly to the work of a musician, as playing on stage it is always very hot. I love the vespa and the Moto guzzi. I collect mo- torbikes, and I own a 1976 Honda, a bMw and a triumph.
I also like alfaromeo very much, especially the spiders. In general, I love vintage cars with the body with rounded shapes like the bugatti. I love the ferraris and I find they are very interesting cars, even though I have never owned one.
I own an english car - a Morgan with Mustang engine. It is a a very very fast car (laugh).
What was the concert or the musician who has inspired you most?
as I love Jazz music and I am a jazz musician, I have to say that Mccoy tyner was and is very important to me.
when I was young I really liked the caravan, an english band that played progressive rock.
Are there different ways in which things find their way through us or are we to define them?
It is true ... I think that today, in the modern and techno- logical era in which we live, people love authentic things.
think of the vinyl - today with the technology we have, people keep buying vinyl records because it’s something authentic and real. So you can say that there is a differ- ent way of thinking about music, clothes, cars.
there is this consideration that everything that is hand- crafted, is authentic. So there is also a search in this au- thenticity and beauty to which we must always be open.
Some time ago, I bought a motorcycle handcrafted in Milan; the black-douglas. they are vintage Sterling mo- torcycles built entirely by hand. and that is why they are beautiful.
How did you come up with the idea of writing themes like Starsky and Hutch, Goldfinger and Blow-Up?
when I was a teenager, I lived in a boring town where nothing happened and the weather was also always grey.
So, when I watched these episodes set in in wonderful places, I got very excited. I can say the same about the James bond goldfinger movie - the film is amazing and the soundtrack is even more so. I sat at the piano and I tried to understand and reproduce the music. that’s all being a musician involves - capturing the music, knowing about it and knowing what to do with it (laughter). when

What is your favorite between cd or lp?
vinyl certainly because it is beautiful to touch.
Are you able to give advice on any matter?
I do not know (laughter) I think ... probably ... it’s better not to give advice (laugh).
but as a musician I had the opportunity to travel and ob- serve a lot about people and their cultures.
now that I am “old”, this experience is useful for me to live in the right way. So now with my children
I allow myself to give advice, but I do not know if what I say is right or wrong.
Any future projects?
I’m working with an orchestra for a concert in london.
we will make an album and play funky music.
and also there are the projects to be carried out with my band. let’s say that despite my age I’m very active in the music field, so, this is very important in my life - it rep- resents a good part of it.
stupendo e la colonna sonora lo è ancora di più. Mi sono seduto al pianoforte e ho cercato di capire e riprodurre la musica. ecco tutto. essere un musicista implica il fatto di capire la musica, conoscerla e saperne cosa fare (risata).
Quando un buon film si incontra con una musica bella, quello che ne viene fuori è molto potente.
Hai mai suonato da solo?
certo. Mi piace suonare da solo ma è una cosa che mi spaventa. Mi spiego. Quando suono del Jazz, il pubblico è intento a bere, chiacchierare.
Ma quando sei seduto al piano e devi suonare del- la musica classica durante un concerto beh è davvero spaventoso.
la musica raggiunge il pubblico in modo più profondo e si crea una connessione altrettanto profonda tra pubblico e musicista, ecco.
La musica e le canzoni hanno un grande potere nello spingere le persone a mobilitarsi. Pensi che oggi sia ancora cosï?
la musica è un ammortizzatore dei problemi sociali.
oggi le persone sono sempre più coinvolte nella politica e nei problemi e relative situazioni pericolose che de essa derivano. per questo, la musica (e anche l’arte) sono un antidoto perfetto. e il musicista in questo ha una grande responsabilità.
Cosa avresti fatto se non fossi un musicista?
Sicuramente avrei lavorato in una fattoria. Il mio hobby principale è il giardinaggio. Mi piace coltivare la terra, piantare ortaggi come i pomodori rigorosamente italiani e la zucca. abbiamo solo una vita e non poter fare quello che amiamo è frustrante.
Cos’è il tuo preferito tra cd o lp?
Il vinile certamente anche perché è bello anche da toccare.
La tua capacità riguardo a dare consigli?
non lo so (risata). penso... probabilmente... meglio non darne di consigli (risata). però come musicista ho avuto la possibilità di viaggiare e osservare molto a proposito delle persone e delle loro culture. adesso che sono “vec- chio” tale esperienza mi è utile per vivere nel modo giu- sto. ecco dunque, che con i miei figli mi permetto di dare dei consigli, ma non so se questi siano giusti o sbagliati.
Progetti futuri?
Sto lavorando con un’orchestra per un concerto a lon- dra. realizzeremo un album e suoneremo musica funky.
e inoltre ci sono i progetti da portare avanti con la mia band. diciamo che alla mia età sono molto attivo in campo musicale. a sua volta questa è molto importante nella mia vita, costituisce buona parte di essa.

Have you ever played alone?
Sure. I like to play alone but it’s something that scares me. let me explain. when I play Jazz, the audience is drinking, chatting. but when you’re on the piano and you have to play classical music during a concert, it’s really scary. the music reaches the audience in a deeper way and creates an equally deep connection between the au- dience and the musician.
Music and songs have a great power to push people to go into action. Do you think that today is still the case?
Music is a damper of social problems. today, people are increasingly involved in politics, and all problems that are related to dangerous situations deriving from it. this is why music (and also art) is a perfect antidote. and the musician has a great responsibility in this.
What would you do if you were not a musician?
Surely I would have worked on a farm. My main hobby is gardening. I like to cultivate the land and plant vegeta- bles, such as strictly Italian tomatoes and pumpkin. we have only one life and not being able to do what we love is frustrating.

La bellezza per te è più ordine o complessità?
per me è più ordine e semplicità.
Un profumo che ti ricorda l’infanzia.
la lavanda. avevamo delle piante in campagna e da pic- cola ci giocavo spesso.
Qual è il salto nel buio che rifaresti?
Sicuramente ricredere in questo sport che oltre ad essere la mia passione è diventato il mio lavoro.
Che valore hanno per te moda, stile ed eleganza?
Moda, stile ed eleganza non sono certo dei valori fonda- mentali. per la maggior pate del tempo vesto in modo sportivo. In base alle occasioni però mi piace essere ele- gante, ecco ci tengo a questo.
Parlando di serie TV, qual è quella che ti coinvolge di più?
(risata) sono anni che non ne guardo...l’ultima che ho visto è grey’s anatomy. diciamo che mi piace di più pas- sare il tempo all’aria aperta che davanti alla tv.
Il film che rivedi spesso e l’ultimo che hai visto?
Il film che ho visto un sacco di volte è forrest gump, mentre l’ultimo è unbroken (la vera storia di louis zamperini).
Cosa ti mette a tuo agio e cosa ti infastidisce.
essere al mare con i miei amici. Mentre quello che non sop- porto è quando qualcuno non mi conosce e non vi è quella confidenza e si vuol sapere qualcosa in più su di me.
Il piatto che adori e quello che non mangeresti mai.
la pizza è il piatto che adoro. Mentre quello che proprio non riesco a mangiare sono i peperoni in tutti i modi in cui si possano cucinare.
Durante l’ultimo respiro prima di immergerti a cosa pensi?
(sospiro) a divertirmi più che posso nel tuffo che farò.
Quello che l’apnea ti ha insegnato e applichi nella vita di tutti i giorni.
Mi ha insegnato a credere nei miei sogni e ad impegnarmi al massimo per realizzarli.
Secondo te cosa potremmo fare per cercare di contra- stare l’inquinamento dei mari?
beh potremmo iniziare tutti pulendo il mare da quello che incontriamo lungo il nostro cammino. poi usare so- prattutto meno plastica e anche meno acqua. e poi avere un comportamento eco friendly in generale.
Hai un posto speciale dove conservi le tue medaglie?
(ride) le medaglie importanti e quelle internazionali sono tutte in un porta medaglie, ormai pienissimo non ce ne entrano più, (risata) in camera mia.
Se non fossi un’apneista saresti..?
Sicuramente una sportiva... da piccola desideravo fare pattinaggio di velocità, per cui magari quello.
Come ti vedi tra 10 anni?
con una famiglia, dei bambini e in un posto di mare.

(mumbling) I think it’s more about order and simplicity.
A scent that reminds you of your childhood.
lavender. we had some plants in the countryside and, when I was child, I used to often play with them.
What’ s the leap in the dark that you would do again?
Surely believing in this sport that, in addition to being my passion, has become my job.
What value do fashion, style and elegance mean to you?
fashion, style, and elegance are certainly not fundamental values. I usually wear sporty clothes. on some occasions, however, I like being elegant. that’s what I care about.
Speaking of TV series, which is the one that you like best?
(laughter) It’s been years since I’ve watched any... the last one I saw is gray’s anatomy. let’s say that I prefer spend- ing time outdoors to watching tv.
What’s the movie you watch again more often and the last one you saw?
the one that I’ve seen a lot of times is forrest gump, while the last one I saw is unbroken (the true story of louis zamperini).
What makes you comfortable and what annoys you?
being on the beach with my friends. while what I can’t stand is when someone who does not know me, and with whom I don’t have a special intimacy wants to know something more about me.
The dish that you prefer most and the one you would never eat.
pizza is the one that I love. but I just can’t eat peppers whatever way they are cooked.
As you take your last breath before diving, what is your thought?
(sigh) to have as much fun as I can in the next dive.
What has the apnea taught you that you apply to eve- ryday life.
It has taught me to believe in my dreams and to work hard to make them come true.
In your opinion, what could we do to try to fight sea pollution?
well, we could all start by cleaning up whatever rubbish we find in the sea. then we could use less plastic and even less water. and then we could adopt more eco- friendly behavior in general.
Do you have a special place where you keep your medals?
(laughs) the important medals and the international ones are all in a medal case, which is now totally full (laugh- ter), in my room.
If you were not a free diver what would you be …?
a sports person for sure ... when I was a child I wanted to do speed skating, so maybe that.
How do you see yourself in 10 years?
with a family, children and a place by the seaside.

londra, è un pomeriggio di fine novembre quando varco la soglia del famoso negozio di cappelli al n°6 in St. Ja- mes street. Sono da lock & co. Hatters.
I suoi cappelli sono famosi per essere stati indossati da uomini che hanno scritto la storia non solo della gran bretagna, ma dell’europa intera. e non solo.
Il suo fondatore, James lock, aveva iniziato come ap- prendista cappellaio da charles davis.
In seguito sposerà la nipote di questo, Mary davis e, in- sieme si sposteranno al n°6 di St. James Street, creando lo store lock & co. dove esiste ancora oggi.
numerosi sono i signori e i leaders di stato che nel corso dei secoli succeduti sino ad oggi scelsero, di coprire le loro teste, con i pregiati tessuti della locks & co. Hatters.
agli inizi del 1800, l’ammiraglio,lord nelson visita il ne- gozio per ordinare quello che sarebbe diventato il suo classico copricapo(un cappello a tre punte con una coc- carda) ed una spilla.
diventa un cliente assiduo fino alla sua ultima visita nel 1805 prima di partire per la Spagna dove morirà nella battaglia di trafalgar, contro l’ammiraglio france- se, villeneuve.
nel 1806 il fondatore della lock & co. James lock muo- re. a continuare la tradizione ci pensa george James lock, conosciuto come James lock II.
tra gli altri nomi che meritano di essere annoverati tra i clienti di questo prestigioso negozio ricordiamo il dandy beau brummel, lo scrittore charles lutwidge dodgson, che pubblicò alice nel paese delle meraviglie con il nome di lewis carrol.
Questo pare si sia ispirato a James lock III nel creare il personaggio del cappellaio matto dell’omonimo romanzo.
oscar wild, comprò il modello “fedora black” ma in se- guito alla sua incarcerazione presso la prigione di wan- dswort, wild non riuscì a finire di pagare il cappello.
Il debito fu saldato con un assegno di £3.30 nel 2000 inviato da un fedele seguace di wild.
Indimenticabile per il suo stile e anche per la sua poli- tica, Sir winston churchill. tre i modelli da lui comprati, uno dei quali appositamente cucito per il giorno delle sue nozze.
e ancora clienti come il divo di Hollywood, douglas fai- rbanks Junior, e la star del “Silver Screen” charlie cha- plin.
Il 1953 è un anno storico, in quanto lock insieme con i gioiellieri della corona, “garrard & co. realizzano il sup- porto per la corona della regina elisabetta.
la lista di personaggi e personalità che hanno scelto un cappello lock, nel corso di più di 200 anni di attività è lunga. numerosi sono gli aneddoti e le curiosità che si sono verificati tra le mura di quel negozio.
e qui, mai come in questo caso si potrebbe dire “se quei muri potessero parlare...”
ad accompagnarmi in questa particolare macchina del tempo, un caro amico lee Jay Hoy.
Inglese, nato e cresciuto a londra. lee è un modello, ma lui ama definirsi soprattutto un “ballet dancer”.
ricordiamo il suo ruolo nel Musical di billy elliot dove ha interpretato la parte di billy ragazzo, e come vocalist durante un concerto di roger waters.
lee ha posato per alcuni scatti, indossando alcuni classici modelli di cappelli lock semplicemente incantevoli.
It is a sunny afternoon at the end of november in london when I cross the threshold of the famous hat shop at no.
6 on St. James street. I’m at lock & co. Hatters. their hats are famous for being worn by men who wrote the stories, not just of britain, but of the whole of europe.
and many others besides.
Its founder, James lock, began as hatter’s apprentice to charles davis.
later he will marry his granddaughter, Mary davis. to- gether they will move to no. 6 on St. James Street, and establish what is today the oldest hat shop in the world.
until now, several gentlemen and State leaders through- out the centuries, have chosen to cover their heads with the precious textiles by locks & co. Hatters.
In the early 1800s, admiral lord nelson visited the shop to buy what would become his classic headgear (a three- pointed hat with a cockade) and a brooch. He became a regular client until his last visit in 1805 before leaving for Spain where he died in the battle of trafalgar, against the french admiral, villeneuve.
In 1806 James, the founder of lock & co. died. george James lock, known as James lock II, inherited the busi- ness.among the other names that deserve to be counted among the customers of this prestigious store, we recall dandy beau brummel, the writer charles lutwidge dodg- son, who published alice in wonderland under the pseu- donym, lewis carroll. It is claimed by some that James benning, the shop manager for James lock III, inspired the memorable Mad Hatter character.
oscar wild, bought the “fedora black” model, but follow- ing his incarceration at wandsworth prison, wild could not finish paying for his hat. the bill was paid with a check of £ 3.30, sent by a loyal follower of wild in 2000.
Sir winston churchill is unforgettable for his style and also for his politics. He bought three models, one of them specially stitched for his wedding day.

the list of personalities who have chosen a lock hat, over more than 200 years of activity, is long. and there are also numerous anecdotes and curiosities that have occurred within the walls of that shop. Here, more than anywhere else we could say, “if walls could talk…”.
together with me, in this peculiar time machine, is a dear friend lee Jay Hoy. being english, and born and raised in london, lee is a model, but he loves to define himself above all as a “ballet dancer”.
we remember his role in billy elliot’s Musical where he played the part of billy as a boy, and as a vocalist in a roger waters’ concert .

Come hai scelto questa location per il lancio del tuo libro?
beh vedi ho conosciuto alessandro (alessandro altomare Maisonstudio) durante un pitti uomo a firenze. Mi ha colpito il suo stile, sempre molto “cool” e inizio a fotogra- farlo. ecco ci siamo conosciuti così. e da qui la proposta di organizzare il lancio/evento del mio libro nel suo nego- zio Maison Studio a bisceglie (bat).
la mia risposta è stata subito si. Il perché, beh sono spes- so in Italia in posti stupendi come Milano, ma non ho mai visto il “sud” Italia, così eccomi qui.
Visto che siamo nel sud Italia al mare, ti piace praticare sport acquatici?
Mi piace il mare ed essere in posti dove c’è il mare. Ma se sono in vacanza e devo scegliere allora preferisco la montagna. con questo non vuol dire che non ami il mare.
Sono cresciuto nel new canada (uSa) dove l’oceano è freddo in qualsiasi stagione, per me è più interessante andare in montagna, fare un’arrampicata e cose così.
Qual è il tuo contributo personale alla fotografia fashion?
non so quale possa essere. Scatto fotografie con le quali cerco di documentare quello che accade intorno a me.
Si tratta, in un certo senso, di interpretare quello che si sta guardando secondo il proprio punto di vista. ciò assu- me un comportamento egoista, che a me non piace, ma nonostante tutto è parte della mia personalità, di quello che faccio.
Ti piacerebbe essere il fotografo del calendario Pirelli?
(mmm) credo di no. la realizzazione di un calendario, del calendario pirelli, o di un lavoro simile, è molto concet- tuale. Io sono un fotografo che scatta il momento così come lo vede. poi non so se tra qualche anno il mio stile evolva nella direzione per questo genere di lavori.
al momento no.
Qual è il tuo cibo/look preferito?
la pasta alla carbonara. Mamma me la prepara in occa- sioni speciali. a questo proposito devo dire che andrò a roma e sono felicissimo perché lì potrò gustare una vera pasta alla carbonara. riguardo l’abbigliamento, mi piace vestirmi semplice e in modo confortevole. Sneakers, una felpa ,un pantalone in tuta. adoro il colore nero, in parti- colare le magliette, e i cappellini da baseball.
Progetti futuri?
la realizzazione di questo libro era uno dei progetti fu- turi. vorrei farne un altro. ma il tempo e il lavoro che ci è voluto per fare questo mi ha stressato moltissimo. così penso realmente che uno dei miei progetti per il futuro sia di lavorare meno e trascorrere più tempo a casa.
How did you choose this location for the launch of your book?
well, you see, I met alessandro (alessandro altomare Maison Studio) during a pitti uomo event in florence. I was struck by his style, always very “cool”, and I started to photograph him. Here’s the way we met: when he suggested to organize the launch/ event of my book in his Maison Studio store in bisceglie (bat), my answer was immediately yes. why? well, I’m often in Italy in beauti- ful places like Milan, but I’ve never seen the “South” of Italy - so here I am.
So we are in the South of Italy by the sea, what about water sports, do you like them?
I like the sea and being in places where the coast is.
but if I’m on holiday and I have to choose. I prefer the mountain. this does not mean that I do not love the sea.
I grew up in new canada (uSa) where the ocean is cold in any season, so for me it is more interesting to go to the mountains, go climbing and things like that.
What is your personal contribution to fashion pho- tography?
I don’t really know what it is. I take photographs through which I try to show what is happening around me. In a certain sense, it is a way of interpreting what I’m looking at, according to my point of view. this is probably selfish behaviour, which I do not like, but despite everything, this is part of my personality - part of what I do.
Would you like to be the Pirelli calendar photographer?
(mmm) I don’t think so. the creation of the pirelli calen- dar, or a similar work, is very conceptual. I am a photog- rapher who shoots the moment as I see it. I don’t know if in a few years my style will evolve in the direction of this kind of work. at the moment it isn’t in this direction.
What is your favorite food/look?
carbonara pasta. Mom prepares it for me on special occasions. In this sense, going to rome will make me very happy because I will be able to taste a real pasta carbonara there. as for dress style, I like to dress easily and comfortably. Sneakers, a sweatshirt, trainers. I love black, especially t-shirts, and baseball caps.
Any future projects?
the making of this book was one of my future projects. I would like to do another one. but the time and the work that it took to do this, has caused me great stress. So I really think that one of my plans for the future is to work less and spend more time at home.

nella storia dell’automobile, lo spider, ha trasmesso sempre quel senso di maggior libertà. completamente diverso da quello che si prova guidando un’auto normale o una coupé.
lo spider in questione è una ferrari, il 330 gtS.
una di queste splendide ferrari spider, precisamente il 71esimo di 100, sarà battuto all’asta da Sotheby’s per un ammontare compreso tra i 2,200,000$ e i 2,500,000$
il prossimo 17 gennaio 2019. tale modello apparteneva ad un americano, warren Heller, residente a parigi che lo acquistò nel 1967. nel 1981 gli fu rubato, riverniciato di un grigio scuro e rivenduto ad un ignaro compratore.
dopo numerose peripezie nel 1994 il 330gtS venne ri- consegnato al vero proprietario. nel 1999 Heller muore e la macchina viene venduta a franck gallogly of en- glewood, new Jersey che inizia un meticoloso restauro per portare il 330 gtS al suo antico splendore.
Il 330 gtS fu voluto fortemente da enzo ferrari per con- trastare il fenomeno rivoluzionario della porsche targa che iniziò a dilagare dalla seconda metà degli anni ’60.
basata interamente sul modello gtc (coupé), venne presentata al salone di parigi nell’ottobre del 1966. ven- ne disegnata da pininfarina, che realizzò così uno dei 200 modelli più belli di tutta la storia dell’automobile, durante la sua collaborazione di oltre 60 anni con il marchio ferrari.
la vettura produceva, nel suo insieme, una linea armo- niosa, leggera ed elegante. Il musetto della 330 gtS presentava una griglia del radiatore, snella e ovoida-
le, con i fari anteriori inseriti in cavità poco profonde all’interno dei parafanghi. Questi ultimi presentavano tre sfoghi aerodinamici per l’aerazione del vano motore ed erano circondati da una sottile finitura cromata. la coda portava sul vano portabagagli, la sigla del model- lo, mentre ai quattro angoli vi erano altrettanti paraurti sottili e cromati. la capote era in tela e quando non era in uso, veniva ripiegata dietro i sedili in una copertura di vinile che si agganciava con dei bottoni automatici.
unica pecca i cerchi a raggi borrani forniti come optio- nal a quelli classici campagnolo.
della 330 gtS ne furono prodotti 100 esemplari dal 1966 al 1968. come propulsore montava un v12 4l che erogava una potenza di 300 cavalli, identico a quello della gtc. Immaginate il dolce suono prodotto, e la ve- locità che raggiungeva i 300 Kmh.
una curiosità degna di nota è la versione “Harrah tar- ga” della ferrari 330 gtS. Questa fu eseguita esclusiva- mente negli Stati uniti sul modello con telaio n° 10913.
Questo era il modello acquistato da william Harrah, di reno nevada. william era il rivenditore ferreri per la regione occidentale degli uSa e acquistò il modello 330 con tale numero di telaio. I lavori vennero realizzati nella sua officina e compresero un lunotto inclinato in perspex colorato un cofano posteriore di dimensioni più modeste rispetto a quelle del modello standard e un arco ricoperto in acciaio inossidabile con tettuccio rimo- vibile in vinile nero.

In the history of the automobile, the spider has always transmitted that sense of greater freedom, completely different from what you feel driving a normal car or a coupe. the spider we are talking about is a ferrari, the 330 gtS.
one of these splendid ferrari spiders, precisely the 71st of 100, will be auctioned by Sotheby’s for an amount between $ 2,200,000 and $ 2,500,000 on January 17 2019. this model belonged to an american, warren Hel- ler, who lives in paris, who bought it in 1967. In 1981 it was stolen, repainted dark grey and sold to an unsus- pecting buyer. after many vicissitudes, in 1994 the car was returned to its true owner. In 1999, Heller died and the machine was bought by franck gallogly of engle- wood, new Jersey, who began a meticulous restoration to return the 330 gtS to its former glory.
the 330 gtS was desired passionately by enzo ferrari to counter the revolutionary phenomenon of the por- sche targa that began to spread from the second half of the 60s.
based entirely on the gtc model (coupé), it was pre- sented at the paris salon in october 1966. It was de- signed by pininfarina, which created one of the 200 most beautiful models in the history of the automobile, during its collaboration of over 60 years with the fer- rari brand.
the car produced, as a whole, a harmonious, light and elegant line. the nose of the 330 gtS featured a lean, oval radiator grill, with the headlights located in shallow
cavities inside the mudguards. the latter had three aer- odynamic vents for the ventilation of the engine com- partment and were surrounded by a thin chrome finish.
the tail carried the initials of the model on the luggage compartment, while at the four corners there were thin chrome bumpers. the hard top was in canvas and, when not in use, was folded behind the seats in a vinyl cover fastened with automatic buttons. only one defect was the borrani wheels rims, supplied as an option to the classic campagnolo. of the 330 gtS, 100 models were produced from 1966 to 1968. the engine was equipped with a v12 4l that delivered 300 horsepower, identical to that of the gtc. Imagine the sweet sound produced, and the speed that reached 300 Kmh.
a noteworthy curiosity is the ‘Harrah targa’ version of the ferrari 330 gtS. this was performed exclusively in the united States on the model with chassis no. 10913.
this model was bought by one william Harrah, of reno nevada. william was the ferrari retailer for the western region of the uSa. the works were carried out in his workshop and included a sloping rear window in colored perspex, a rear bonnet of a more modest size than the standard model and a stainless steel covered arch with removable black vinyl roof.
