Come hai scelto questa location per il lancio del tuo libro?
beh vedi ho conosciuto alessandro (alessandro altomare Maisonstudio) durante un pitti uomo a firenze. Mi ha colpito il suo stile, sempre molto “cool” e inizio a fotogra-farlo. ecco ci siamo conosciuti così. e da qui la proposta di organizzare il lancio/evento del mio libro nel suo nego-zio Maison Studio a bisceglie (bat).
la mia risposta è stata subito si. Il perché, beh sono spes-so in Italia in posti stupendi come Milano, ma non ho mai visto il “sud” Italia, così eccomi qui.
Visto che siamo nel sud Italia al mare, ti piace praticare sport acquatici?
Mi piace il mare ed essere in posti dove c’è il mare. Ma se sono in vacanza e devo scegliere allora preferisco la montagna. con questo non vuol dire che non ami il mare.
Sono cresciuto nel new canada (uSa) dove l’oceano è freddo in qualsiasi stagione, per me è più interessante andare in montagna, fare un’arrampicata e cose così.
Qual è il tuo contributo personale alla fotografia fashion?
non so quale possa essere. Scatto fotografie con le quali cerco di documentare quello che accade intorno a me.
Si tratta, in un certo senso, di interpretare quello che si sta guardando secondo il proprio punto di vista. ciò assu-me un comportaassu-mento egoista, che a assu-me non piace, ma nonostante tutto è parte della mia personalità, di quello che faccio.
Ti piacerebbe essere il fotografo del calendario Pirelli?
(mmm) credo di no. la realizzazione di un calendario, del calendario pirelli, o di un lavoro simile, è molto concet-tuale. Io sono un fotografo che scatta il momento così come lo vede. poi non so se tra qualche anno il mio stile evolva nella direzione per questo genere di lavori.

Qual è il tuo cibo/look preferito?
la pasta alla carbonara. Mamma me la prepara in occa-sioni speciali. a questo proposito devo dire che andrò a roma e sono felicissimo perché lì potrò gustare una vera pasta alla carbonara. riguardo l’abbigliamento, mi piace vestirmi semplice e in modo confortevole. Sneakers, una felpa ,un pantalone in tuta. adoro il colore nero, in parti-colare le magliette, e i cappellini da baseball.
Progetti futuri?
la realizzazione di questo libro era uno dei progetti fu-turi. vorrei farne un altro. ma il tempo e il lavoro che ci è voluto per fare questo mi ha stressato moltissimo. così penso realmente che uno dei miei progetti per il futuro sia di lavorare meno e trascorrere più tempo a casa.
How did you choose this location for the launch of your book?
well, you see, I met alessandro (alessandro altomare Maison Studio) during a pitti uomo event in florence. I was struck by his style, always very “cool”, and I started to photograph him. Here’s the way we met: when he suggested to organize the launch/ event of my book in his Maison Studio store in bisceglie (bat), my answer was immediately yes. why? well, I’m often in Italy in beauti-ful places like Milan, but I’ve never seen the “South” of Italy - so here I am.
So we are in the South of Italy by the sea, what about water sports, do you like them?
I like the sea and being in places where the coast is.
but if I’m on holiday and I have to choose. I prefer the mountain. this does not mean that I do not love the sea.
I grew up in new canada (uSa) where the ocean is cold in any season, so for me it is more interesting to go to the mountains, go climbing and things like that.
What is your personal contribution to fashion pho-tography?
I don’t really know what it is. I take photographs through which I try to show what is happening around me. In a certain sense, it is a way of interpreting what I’m looking at, according to my point of view. this is probably selfish behaviour, which I do not like, but despite everything, this is part of my personality - part of what I do.
Would you like to be the Pirelli calendar photographer?
(mmm) I don’t think so. the creation of the pirelli calen-dar, or a similar work, is very conceptual. I am a photog-rapher who shoots the moment as I see it. I don’t know if in a few years my style will evolve in the direction of this kind of work. at the moment it isn’t in this direction.
What is your favorite food/look?
carbonara pasta. Mom prepares it for me on special occasions. In this sense, going to rome will make me very happy because I will be able to taste a real pasta carbonara there. as for dress style, I like to dress easily and comfortably. Sneakers, a sweatshirt, trainers. I love black, especially t-shirts, and baseball caps.
Any future projects?
the making of this book was one of my future projects. I would like to do another one. but the time and the work that it took to do this, has caused me great stress. So I really think that one of my plans for the future is to work less and spend more time at home.
